TimeCapsule You might be wondering (as I was) why there were sooo many TimeCapsule apps in the Installer…well, after a quick jaunt over to the Developer’s website, I found out it was because it was released in different languages (French and German)! So, make sure you Install the correct one! Version 0.22b1 of TimeCapsule does not have any visual changes but does have some bug fixes (see change log below). Also, I forgot to mention in the last post about this app that once you have a back-up of Installer…you can tap the arrow to the right of it and it will give you the options; LocalPackages.plist, PackageSources.plist, RemotePackages.plist and TrustedSources.plist. You can then tap on each one of those to get the full list. So, lets say you tap on PackageSources.plist, you will see a list of all the sources you have installed on your iPhone. It’s pretty cool. TimeCapsule is available through the data

Change Log for Version 0.22b1
fixed: crash with WebClips
fixed: WebClips not displaying count
fixed: old keys not recognized

I don’t really understand the purpose of this program. Is there a way to transfer the backup to another computer? If not, and you have to restore your iPhone, you will lose the program and also all of the backups.

It is great for people who do a lot of hacking on their iPhone…if you accidentally delete your SMS history you can go back in and recover it!

Also, before you restore, you can go in and pull off the /private/var/mobile/Library/TimeCapsule (for 1.1.3 and above) or the /private/var/root/Library/TimeCapsule (for 1.1.2 and below) folder and then restore. Then all you have to do is reinstall the app and drag the saved TimeCapsule folder back into the ~ Library/TimeCapsule and go in and restore all your stuff!

If running Windows there’s a batch command you can run to get the files to your PC…

Danish and Spanish version are coming soon…

Great program. Too bad they are asking for donations instead of accepting them. A minimum of 15$ is not what I would call a donation but a price.

actually forcing a price on a donation is consumer fraud and it so wrong! the app is kewl but PC SUITE is way better and does slot more. The interface is gorgeous … but yea u have to dock the iPhone BUT SO WHAT!!! this is easier because it backs up directly to your pc by date.

    Hi Brooke,
I am having some problems with the backup, any time I choose backup the screen keep on showing “creating restore point” with the circle turning. It does not stop. If I interupt by pressing back, it only show the backup file with no record stored. I had no problem with the previous version.
    I am using 1.1.3.
