AppStore – Intua BeatMaker: The first music creation studio for the iPhone and iPod Touch

BeatMaker Intua has created BeatMaker, an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that, “introduces a new generation of mobile instruments and music creation software. Inspired by hardware beatboxes, loop samplers and software sequencers, it combines them to turn the iPod into a unique, inspirational software instrument.” And it looks really cool! It allows you to create beats using “16 multi-touch pads which enable you to load, slice, tune, and trigger sounds from an extensive sample library.”

Lay down your ideas.
Experience BeatMaker step sequencer for creating your grooves. The tactile editor makes music composing really quick and easy while keeping a precise synchronization. Limitless patterns, endless possibilities, delivered on tune and on time.

Create your song performing live
Arrange your song snippets to your liking, loop and improvise in real time all the building blocks of your tune into something meaningful.

Enhance, alter, add new perspectives
Give a new impulse to your sound material using audio effects. BeatMaker provides two independent effect channels including synchronized delay, 3-band EQ, and the famous “Bit-Crusher”. You can apply new rhythmic pattern to your drum loops, change textures and frequencies and recreate the lovely vintage sound.

Another really cool feature is that you can save what you have created allowing you “export your piece to one audio file, share it, or just re-use it as another sound base for further compositions.” It looks like it is going to be really cool. I’m assuming it is going to be avialable in the AppStore though, there is no indication of cost. For more information and a full Features list…check out their website.

Finally “Numb & Encore” on my iPhone ;)

  2. I think it may be time to divide up your website. All the reviews for apps that aren’t out yet or just app store apps is confusing. Maybe a section for jailbreaked phones and maybe an appstore section.

  3. How do I download this to my iPhone? I can’t find it.

  4. ^^ see…

  5. @KidRio: This application is not available on Installer (or Cydia). It will be released via the App Store around the time Apple releases its 2.0 firmware upgrade to iPhones and iPod touches.

iPhone is taking over the world!

With apps like these turning up, we’re not just talking ‘revolution’ in phones, we’re talking ‘revolution’ in personal computing. And this is only the beginning.

Is it wrong to be this obsessed with my iPhone?

  7. Looks awesome … Hope it wont be overpriced.

BeatPhone is already pretty sweet even if it took me an hour to make it work on my ipot.

The iPhone and ipot are serious music platforms ! They really are worth the price.
