According to The Wall Street Journal, the App Store is doing pretty well. So far, the App Store has brought in around $30 million which averages to around a million dollars a day! If the App Store continues with this streak it should bring in around $360 million a year! Steve Jobs is quoted saying, “This thing’s going to crest a half a billion, soon,” he added. “Who knows, maybe it will be a $1 billion marketplace at some point in time.”
The article also points out a few other cool facts stating that, “Mr. Jobs said developers’ share of iPhone application sales in the first month was about $21 million, of which the top 10 developers earned roughly $9 million.” The app Store is definitly a money making industry if you have the right tools and the ability to create an application that people want! Think the top 10 developers earned “roughly” $9 million…that is a lot of money making in only one month’s time.

Problem is the main “paid for software” that is selling is for the big software such as Monkey Ball, Crash Kart and Monkey Ball, so it’s still going to another BIG COMPANY……and not so much to the little devloper in his back room……either way hopefully with the success of it, more of the big name developers will get on board with games….Bring on Tiger Woods.
