iBirthday There have been a few updates since the last time I have done a review of iBirthday. This has always been one of my favorite apps…but, a few updates ago (version 1.2.3a) made it compatible with only version 1.1.2 and above. Well, I finally got a chance it get it on our 1.1.4 iPhone and I really like some of the “new” features!! When you open the app…you will notice that it keeps the background you are using on your iPhone as the background for the app…that is pretty cool! There is also a new About button which will give you the change log for the app and some other basic info about it. The two new features that I think are really cool are Sounds and Birthday List. With the Sounds options…you can pick between 7 sounds that will be played when it alerts you of a Birthday. If you select Birthday List…you will see a full list of all the birthdays you have entered in your iPhone, when their birthday is and the age that person is/will be this year. Another sweet feature is that the birthday notification pop-up allows you to call or text message the contact…very very cool! For some reason…I really like this app…I don’t know if it is the fancy fount or the clean icons…just something about this app that I like!! iBirthday is available through the ModMyApple.it source. According to the developer version 2.0.2 of this app is compatible with 1.1.3, 1.1.4 and maybe 1.1.2 (ha, if you are on 1.1.2…let us know if it works for you!).

Note: For instruction on how to add a birthday to your contacts…check out the first post done for this app (version 1.2.1) by clicking on the iBirthday link in the above paragraph.

i got it working in the background, i just opened up finder.app on my iphone and you have to set permissions of the ibirthday.app to 0777, and just to be safe i went into the ibirthday.app folder and also set ibirthday and info.plist also to 0777

    I’m running 1.1.4

iBirthDay is installed through Installer just fine, but no service.

Then for the service to get stuck to ON I had to go into my iPhone with a ssh-client and delete the “old” iBirthDay preference file found in /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/Chiafa.BirthDay.plist

After doing these, iBirthDay works 100% on my 1.1.4 iPhone.
