AiS Time for a new poll! The last poll was – How did you find Apple iPhone School? Below are the results based on when we added the poll about a week and a half ago.

* Web Search (Google, Yahoo…) (60%, 858 Votes)
* Link from Another Site (24%, 351 Votes)
* iTunes (iPhone 101) (4%, 63 Votes)
* Videos (YouTube, Revver…) (3%, 38 Votes)
* Friend (9%, 129 Votes)
* Twitter (0%, 2 Votes)
Total Voters: 1,441

It seems most people found Apple iPhone School through a search engine…which is what I figured would be the most popular answer. Now matter how you found us, we are glad you are here and hope you enjoy the site! PS. I love the two Twitter people! Go Twitter!! You can still vote on this Poll in our Poll Archive page. You can also vote/view all the past polls on the Poll Archive page as well. Here is the new poll.

Will you unlock your iPhone through O2?

    For the “How did you find Apple iPhone School?” poll you should have had Flickr.com as a choice, this is how I found you. But then I guess if you got specific the list would be huge.

    1st gen – Used to be on 1.1.4 jailbroken and then decided yesterday to update to 2.0. Figured that the jailbreak for 2.0 will be out soon!

    I hope so!!! But, it will take a little while for the apps to be rewritten for the 2.0 firmware.

    I said “iPhone 3G-Firmware 2.0″ and “First generation iPhone-Firmware 1.1.4-Jailbroken.” I would have selected “First generation iPhone-Firmware 2.0″ as well, but only 2 are allowed. My first-gwn iPhone dual boots. :P

    We would be extremely interested in both using this for our phones and writing an article/guide for doing this. Would you be willing to work with us on this? email me at doug@appleiphoneschool.com

    Numberzz on July 12th, 2008 10:03 pm:

    I’d love help, but the only problem is that I’m stuck in 2.0 right now because you need a little executable on the phone to tell it which OS to boot into, so now every time it reboots it is into 2.0.

    Douglas on July 13th, 2008 8:00 am:

    If you figure this out, please email me. Many people would love this! Thanks!

    Numberzz on July 13th, 2008 9:38 am:

    As soon as the 2.0 jailbreak comes out, I’ll need to write a little executable and then it should work. :)

  5. Edden on July 12th, 2008 10:28 am:

    I am still on 1.1.4 on my first gen. iPhone.

    one. because im in Israel and im thinking about selling it unlocked here.
    two. im getting the 3G if i sell it.
    three. the wi-fi here in the hotel sucks and it would take forever to upgrade to 2.0 and stuff on here.

    I’m still on 1.1.4 for my iPod Touch (jailbroken). I love Summerboard and it’ll be a long time before I go to 2.0! ;) Plus, I think after reading various sites about the App Store, the applications on Installer are way better.

    Im keeping my first gen iPhone a jailbroken 1.1.4 until I get a 3g next week(hopefully the dev will release the jailbreak by then). I just ordered an iPod touch yesterday I was hoping it would have 2.0 but it looks like it will only have the January update… maybe I can convince them to give me the upgrade for free… haha

    I left my version 1 phone at 1.1.4.
    Updates my 1.1.2 iPod so that I could see first hand what 2.0 could offer.
    So far I have found that iTunes has taken a good 15 20 minutes to back yo the iPod and there is a problem syncing my Outlook calender.
    Yet on the same computer, same iTunes v7.7) my iPhone syncs flawlessly

    n0m0n on July 12th, 2008 11:28 am:

    So I have repeatedly gotten a error message that says:
    OutlookSyncClient Stopped working.
    I plug in my iPhone and all works without an error.

    iPod did work so it must be something with the upgrade?

  13. ARUS on July 12th, 2008 12:02 pm:

    I´ve bought the 2.0 update in iTunes and I´m happy with the easy and smart way of searching, installing and download apps without checking or refreshing of sources.

    Hopefully there´ll be more good free apps in the near future!

    I have a 1st gen 1.1.4 jailbroken and unlocked and I don’t see really what 2.0 offers me that I need. I’m out of the country alot and I’m able to use my phone freely all over the world as long as there is a GSM provider. When and if the app store surpases the installer and I can jailbreak and unlock with ease only then will I think about it.

    I got a question that has been troubling me for a while. Do u guys think the 2.0 firmware is going to have more memory for apps? U know how the installer crashes or warns you about disk space when its almost full, will we have the same problem with this new version?

    i was wondering about that too. im sure they are going to have a lot space allocated to it now.

    So I have 1 gen iPhone 1.1.4 jailbroken. And I don’t update to 2.0 yet. I have important software for an example Moleskine, Intelliscreen, iBlacklist etc. Yes I know there are a lot of new great apps for 2.0 in appstore. But I’ll wait a little bit.

    I’m in between 1.1.4 and 2.0 at the moment. I can’t seem to restore my phone in itunes. It activates for some reason before activation but fails to restore contacts and such. any ideas on how to access the backups?
