Customize Update 1.19 – Video Demo

CustomizeCustomize Update 1.19 has been released with some improvements to the icon order feature. So far we have had no problems with the upgrade on our iPhones which are running FW 1.1.1. The best part of this upgrade is the ability to choose how many icons you want on your dock. This will make installing themes with 3 or 5 dock icons much easier. You can also toggle the hide icon feature on and off to keep from accidentally hiding icons as you scroll through them or move them. If you have Dock installed be careful when moving icons down; you need to slide your finger to the left a little after you start moving it to avoid selecting the dock’s sunburst. I will explain better in the video demo. So far that’s all I see but this is great!

*update* I found some preset icon orders in Installer.app that will sort your icons alphabetically. The presets become choices in the Display Order page once installed.

Is there a specific reason why you use 1.1.1 firmware over 1.1.2?

  2. Douglas says:

We have not upgraded to 1.1.2 because the only new features are international support and patching the tiff exploit. We do not need international support because we are in the US and the tiff exploit is patched when running the jailbreak on jailbreakme.com. It’s also easier to jailbreak 1.1.1 and if we crash or ruin our iPhone testing software it is harder to jailbreak 1.1.2. The one reason I would like to upgrade is because 1.1.2 boosted the processor a bit :) Hope this helps!

Hi, I have hidden all off the icons from my iphone, do you know if there is a way to bring them back without restoring the phone??
    thx

Well…if you had already installed BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH from the Installer.app you could always WinSCP into your iPhone and delete the Customize app. If you installed Dock you can get to Customize that way. But, if you do not have either of those things…I would say you have to restore.

If anyone else knows a way, post it in the comments…because, unfortunately, this happens quite often. You are definitely not the only person to do it!!
