Dev TeamThe Dev team has finally released the official 1.1.3 Jailbreak. Here is a link to the file: http://rapidshare.com/files/86954656/jb113.zip.

hackthatphone.com already has a guide out for it although the zip file above contains a readme file with instructions. We’ll try this one soon and let you know how it goes. So far, word is that Google’s Locate feature still doesn’t work…

*UPDADTE* Looks like the file is available in Installer via iPod Touch Fans Source: www.touchrepo.com/repo.xml

Ok before I go doing this I am nervous, I did the NATE one like you and it messed everything up, now I am a 1.1.1 like you all perfect and working, so please advise if this really works well, and fixes all the buigs and more imprtantly is this one the one that is right and ready for SDK along with our Installer. One last thing, will this erase all my current programs, files, etc, do I need to delete them, oh and does Summerboard work on this one, sorry I keep thinking of all the issues, I am excited to get the REAL one from the DEV team just want to make sure its 100% before I do it, thanks Guys

Ok, I basically bricked my phone by not installing the Installer and the new firmware the right way (I’m impatient and not all that great with the technology stuff). And my boyfriend was nice enough to get the phone going again but now it is the boring ol’ normal phone that it was just with the new 1.1.3 firmware. I went to jailbreakme.com to get my Installer back and the stupid little blue ? is all I get. When I try to restore my phone to get back to version 1.1.1 it gives me a funky error message with a bunch of numbers. My boyfriend gives up cause he doesn’t want to put that much work into getting it working for me and says I just have to wait until April when they make all that stuff available to everyone through Apple but I can’t wait that long. Does anybody have any clue what I can do to fix my problem?

Yeah I tried this with my phone and it bricked mine too. As far as i can tell i did everything right but it bricked now i have to restore to an unjailbroken 1.1.3. Im really pissed right now.

I would highly recommend that people wait till this has been tried out by the pros. there have already been reports of it having problems with syncing with itunes.

from what I read, the DEV team was going to hold this hack until after the SDK came out, but after Nate released his yesterday, they were forced to release theirs. Hopefully apple won’t patch the SDK so we’ll need yet another jb.

There is a soft update on the installer via the modmyifone source…
Why We cant upgrade to 1.1.3 if we have firmware 1.1.1 ?? I dont understand that.

go to http://www.modmyifone.com for more info (site is overwhelmed so it may take several tries to get in)

@ Owen – Nate’s release came out almost 4days back now. this move to let out the official jailbreak is just a helplessness showing that if pple did wanna patch it up they could even with Nate’s release.

@Stefan – This new official Jailbreak will only work with 1.1.2JB so dont use it on ur 1.1.1

@Willy – i would hold on to the 1.1.3 since uve already done it. the fix should be on its way.

Hi, i have an unlocked iPhone with 1.0.2. If i want to have 1.1.3, i have to first jailbrake it to 1.1.1 to then jailbrake it to 1.1.3?

You have an excellent site, consider this a question from a student of the apple iphone school ;)

    Thanks, fuser

can you use this jailbreak if you are already firmware 1.1.3. I updated when I heard Apple is going to allow 3rd party apps (Someday!!!) Or o I have to downgrade to 1.1.1 – 1.1.2.

Well I plunged in an did the update from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 jailbroke it then put on the new 1.1.3 and had way too many problems, phone freezing, apps not working, and of course good old google maps not working unless you use Locate me or navigon

Anyhow I went here http://www.modmyifone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25695&highlight=downgrade+1.1.3, and followed the instructions inclduing downgrade bootloader to the tee and i am back to a perfect 1.1.1, I guess I will wait a while more

    Thanks all

i did evrything right with the ibrickr method to upgrade to 1.1.3
    i had (”HAD”:( ) a jailbroken unlocked 1.1.1
evrything happened as per the screenshots; i installed the soft upgrade 1.1.3
from installer. it stalled halfway as expected. then the loading circle of iphone appeared and the phone restarted
But then…the stupid phone went into recovery mode rather than restarting as 1.1.3….i had to roll back to 1.1.1
nobody has a forum on this problem as far as i have searched
plzzzzzzz advice me on this issue, as i wud lovve to go to 1.1.3

also, one more thing, does sendsong work on 1.1.3?

If Youtube is not working after Jailbreak 1.1.3 and you get a message saying “You must first connect to itunes with an internet connection to enable youtube” This is how you fix the problem:

add s.apfelphone.net to sources in installer
go to apfelphone tools and install youtube fix and restart the phone. Originally Posted in Modmyifone by stopthat75
