We have had a few people ask about this application. biteSMS is an app that lets you purchase SMS credits and use those instead of texting through your Mobile Carrier. When you install biteSMS it will add an icon to your SpringBoard. When you open the app, it will look similar to the stock SMS application on your iPhone. When you select a conversation, you will notice a an arrow in the lower right corner, it will bring you to the Settings menu for biteSMS. In the Settings you have the option you can choose to send your text via biteSMS or your Mobile Carrier, you can see how many credits you have left, whether or not you want biteSMS to be your default text application and the ability to reset the counter. If you select Buy Credits, you will get a screen that will direct you to the biteSMS website. The cost of the credits are based on what currency you will be using to pay for the credits. If you are using USD it is 10 cents per text. You can pay via PayPal, Visa or Mastercard. I purchased 50 texts for $5.00 to test it out. Though, I have yet to receive the Text with the credits in it. As soon as I do, I will let you know how it works! biteSMS is available through the Ste Packaging source.

I had to reformat my iPhone and they resent me the credits. It works a treat every time and for me in the UK far better that cost wise as a text here can be between 12p/25p a time. Highly recommended.

I have one problem with this software. I can’t send messages to people in my adressbook because I use a special formating for the phone numbers in my adressbook, which biteSMS can’t handle.
(+49)176…. is seen as 49176… ! so the sms will not be sent.
I hope there will be an update soon. Otherwise I have to change the formattin.

If you make up your own number format, you shouldn’t be surprised that other apps don’t work with it
Report it as a bug to the devs, I’m sure they’ll take care of your problem. Otherwise they won’t even know that you’ve got an issue here.
