As of now, there are two options for application launching apps via Cydia; gLauncher and Launcher. Both are very simple applications.

gLauncher gLauncher, when selected, will open to an alphabetical list of all the applications you have installed on your iPhone or iPod Touch. It will display the application icon, the title of the application and plist info for that app. When you tap on an application, it will automatically open that application.

Launcher Launcher is basically the same application it just looks a little different. When you open Launcher you still get an alphabetical list of all the apps you have installed on your iPhone or iPod Touch however, they are broken up into letter categories. Each letter category is separated by a letter header. This application displays the application icon and title. When you select an app, it will open automatically into that application.

I did not have any problems with either application, they both worked fine. I personally don’t use app launching application but, I know that quite a few of you do! So, at least there are a few options for you. Both are available through Cydia and the BigBoss source.

So…on your dropdown menus…will you be adding a new link for Cydia Apps?

I love this mainly because there are many apps (like Stock, iTunes) that I never use and like to hide with Poof. Also certain apps are seldom used like Make It Mine. I added gLauncher to my BossPrefs’ dock so whenever I need an app I don’t use often, I get a quick access to it.

However, Launcher has some problems for me. Many apps on the list appear with no text. gLauncher works fine though.

I tried these two but i found the appflow by erica sadun works much better because of the alphabet on the side and the optional landscape/appflow mode
