FullForce – Stretch iPhone Apps For Your iPad

Apple makes the claim that all of the existing iPhone apps will run on the iPad. This is true but unless the developer updates their app to run on the iPad it looks like this:

That is Facebook and Twitter for the iPhone. At the time of writing this article there were no official alternatives for the iPad for these apps. This is what you would be stuck with. Oh, wait, Apple made this little button down in the bottom right that says 2x. Look what this does:

This is just horrible. All it does is zoom in on the app and stretch all the pixels. It doesn’t even reformat the text. Now, FullForce:

That is so much better! FullForce rocks! And best of all, it’s free! Instead of just stretching the pixels it actually makes the app bigger. Once installed you just open you Settings app and there will be a FullForce menu. Just toggle on or off an app depending on how it works for you.

This seems to work for a lot of apps for me but there are a few that don’t work. I’ve see a couple of compatibility lists out there but they don’t seem to be working anymore so I can list the ones I know of here. If you know of any that aren’t on the list, feel free to fill out the form below to help me keep it updated.
