I’ve had troubles with the new Colloquy crashing. I do have 4 IRC channels open but that shouldn’t matter. The only way to fix it is to disconnect from the channels and restart Colloquy. Here are some screenshots:

I’ve experienced this as well and consider it to be a bug so I’ve submitted a bug report for them to check into. So hope this will be fixed along with many other things!
My colloquy doesn’t have the graphic for the text field. Just a black bar between the keyboard and the chat area. I can’t even see what I’m typing. Anyone else have this problem?

No problem…we use colloquy a lot…and hope they come out with an update soon. It doesn’t help that it usually crashes right when you are typing something really important!!
