Silent Switch Bypass is an application that bypasses the silent switch on your iPhone, forcing all the system sounds on. When you install Silent Switch Bypass you will get a few pop-ups. The first pop-up will confirm that you are on firmware 1.1.4 and that you would like to bypass your silence switch. The second pop-up will tell you that your silence switch has been bypassed and that you will need to restart your iPhone. Once you have restarted your iPhone, the application will automatically bypass your silence switch. Note: It will not put a icon or application on your SpringBoard it will just automatically turn on all your iPhone’s system sounds.
When I tested this application, it did exactly what it said it would do. I turned my iPhone’s silent switch on – meaning I had no systems sounds, my iPhone was silenced – and then installed Silent Switch Bypass. After it had installed, it enabled all my system sounds even though my silence switch was still off. When I uninstalled the application I got a pop-up saying that my silent switch had been unbypassed and to restart my iPhone. After doing so, my iPhone’s settings went back to normal…they were silenced when I turned on my silent switch and when I turned my silent switch off, the system sounds came back. You can get Silent Switch Bypass via the iClarified source.
I tried this as well, yet it did not fix the problem. My switch is broken, it falls back and forth to the on and silent on its own. This application did not do what I expected. I do not have any sound on my phone. i can’t hear incoming calls, texts, nor does the ipod work. Also I get an error saying that “this device is not for iphone”. I need to send it back to apple, yet its quite difficult while I work in Iraq
Ricky,
Can you call someone and talk to them? Can you use a bluetooth headset? If so, you might want to restore your phone to factory fresh, rejailbreak and try installing this application again.
I have already did a restore on the iphone and that did not work. There are some sounds, so I know its not a hardware failure. For instance I still have the alarm on the phone, and I can browse ringtones in the settings/sounds menu and the ringtones play. but the ringtone does not work on incoming calls.
I have the same problem as Ricky – the “normal” system sound are back, but the most important one – the ringtone for incoming calls – is still not working. I would really appreciate an update of the software, that turns on the ringtone itself.
Thanx a lot!
I am facing the same problem. I had my silent switch broken. I was so delighted when I found out of this software to bypass the silent switch. However, it doesnt work after installing and reinstalling. Is there anything wrong any where? Can any of the expert help us with this?
Any chance that this will be upgraded to the 2.1 firmware?
