There was an update to version 0.9.2698-1 of WinterBoard today. The changes are listed below. There are a few cool new changes but, I just want to quickly mention two of them. The one that I think most people will appreciate is that new themes are now added to the top of your list in WinterBoard, instead of the bottom of the list. Also, I noticed that the the icon label option has been changed to two options; No Undocked Icon Lables and No Docked Icon Labels. This allows to turn off your SpringBoard icon labels and your Dock icon labels separately…which just allows for more customization flexibility.
Personally I love WinterBoard but, I’m still waiting for that nice user interface. Maybe I’m the only one who still cares about that but, I would love to see the ability to preview a theme before setting it on my SpringBoard. I don’t know about you guys but sometimes I forget which themes are which or what mod does what. I know one of you hackers out there could do it!

Yes, I would like to see a different interface as well.
I use WbApp to preview my Winterboard themes. It can do a lot more than that, like change some preferences, arrange themes by categories, add fixed themes, patch icon names and a lot of stuff.
Still I use it mostly for preview of themes, and works perfectly.

Any ideas when vwallpaper is gonna be released for 2.0?
We cannot know. The developer hasn’t come up with news for a long time now. We can just hope…
yeah I think a better would be better but let’s not complain because winterboard it’s byfar more powerful than customize or summerboard!
I agree with you. Being able to see full themes before you select and respring your iPhone would be nice. I’d also love to be able to see what the theme would look like with my current settings (user background, transparent dock, etc.). It seems like too much to show/code for currently but, a whole new revamp of Winterboard to do such things would be awesome! Now that I think about it, it would sort of become Winterboard being the same as Cydia with the screenshots and such…
I like that new themes are now at the top of the list, but i see a tab for ‘calendar mod’. Does anyone know what this does?
Is it known yet what is slowing the iPhones a bit?? Is it winterboard or something else?? :O

On what source in Cydia can I download winterboard and can I still use summerboard as well?
You know what I would love to see, is a Winterboard tool for the SMS window that would grab the picture from the contact card and stick it behind the text balloons. Kind of like how you can them a MSN window with a custom background? Yeah…
