iPhone 3G Software Unlock is Getting Closer

The dev team has released some info over the last week that shows progress on the software unlock for the iPhone 3G. There’s a video and screenshot below and you can read more at their site at blog.iphone-dev.org. We’ll make sure to keep an eye on it and let you know as soon as the unlock becomes available.

    Wow… so this means that the iPhone 3g Unlock is coming available soon?! hopefully…. this would allow all GSM carriers to be able to use the phone, correct?

    How exactly will this be of use until another two years. 3G only came out this summer and most people are working on the two year AT&T Contract.

    I bet Apple double their sales again when the unlock comes out.
    Funny though, all I need t unlock my G1 is a code number.

    You don’t need to kill or over write your baseband.
