AiS Time for a new poll. The last poll was – Have you upgraded your iPhone or iPod Touch to firmware 2.2? Below are the results based on when we added the poll a little over a week ago.

* Yes, I upgraded my iPhone but I didn’t jailbreak it. (15%, 436 Votes)
* Yes, I upgraded my iPhone and I jailbroke it. (48%, 1,409 Votes)
* Yes, I upgraded my iPod Touch but I didn’t jailbreak it. (3%, 75 Votes)
* Yes, I upgraded my iPod Touch and I jailbroke it. (6%, 175 Votes)
* No, I did not upgrade my iPhone (13%, 399 Votes)
* No, I did not upgrade my iPod Touch (2%, 64 Votes)
* I plan to upgrade but, I just haven’t yet! (14%, 400 Votes)

Total Voters: 2,958

I actually fall into a few categories on this one. We have one iPhone that we did not upgrade, one that we upgraded and did not jailbreak, one that we upgraded and did jailbreak and one that we still plan to update but haven’t yet. My personal iPhone has not been upgraded yet though, I plan to both upgrade and jailbreak it (if I could find ten minutes to do it!!). Doug’s personal iPhone has been both upgraded and jailbroke. You can still vote on this Poll in our Poll Archive page. You can also vote/view all the past polls on the Poll Archive page as well.

Note: Thanks to Adam for the poll suggestion!

    twice and I still cannot update any apps without first deleting them from the iPhone and then installing the new version from iTunes. PITA.

    when I first got my phone the latest fw was 1.4.4 so I guess I skipped major issues and trial/errors.. But I’ve had to restore a few times, the latest to remove winterboard since it was slowing down my iPhone like crazy! Not worth it :(

    I have never restored my iphone, but then I haven’t jailbroke or unlocked the phone.
    It would have been interesting to me to see how many haven’t restored at all. It should have been an option to pick for the vote.

    Your right that should be an option…I didn’t even think about it because I have restored so many times!

    I really couldn’t count. When I attempt to upgrade from 1.1.4 to 2.x, I dunno why each time after restore it just goes into recovery mode. That moment itself I already restore > 10 times…

    I had to restore only once in a year! But if you read the websites tutorials and you are good with computers there is no need to restore often! Just be cautious with the programs you install. For instance,it took me less than 25 mins to upgrade to 2.2 and jailbreak because I researched thoroughly and followed the steps in the tutorials! Best of Luck!

    When your installing as many apps from cydia installer and putting all types of sources as much as iam u have to restore every now and then but yes I have lost count! I beleve restoreing is good for the phone but it is not fun!

    I was restoring pretty much every week or so one 1.1.x. I probably had to restore almost every other day on 2.0. Sometimes I didn’t even use it for days because I didn’t feel like having to deal with whatever problem that would inevitably appear. I haven’t had to restore a single time on 2.1 or 2.2. Its great.
