An updated version of WinPwn was released yesterday. Doug and I had a chance to test the new version last night and it worked great. Doug is in the process of trying to convert and edit a demo video on how to use WinPwn so, keep an eye out for that. Below is a list of fixes for WinPwn 2.0.0.2 and upcoming features in the future.
2.0.0.2 Fixes:
• Cydia/XP/Writing root FS bug.
• Failed to remove ipsw directory after a ipswBuild failure.
• iPwner now only accepts custom ipsws.
• Remove 345 ipsw support. WinPwn only supports 347 2.0 ipsw’s.
• Various other fixes.
Upcoming Features:
• Parition resizer
• Auto updater
• DFU Helper function/Wizard mode

Notes:
- You MUST do a full uninstall of winpwn before installing the new version
- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes ( Currently 7.7)
- WinPwn uses 300MB of ram at peak due to the ipsw being extracted in memory
- You must first click browse and load an IPSW to use WinPwn (i thought this was clear)
- For 2.0 only the *5A347_Restore.ipsw files are valid. The 345 image will not work ( YOU ALREADY MENTIONED THIS)
- If you see Failed to load image catalog/payload catalog, this is fine and won’t cause problems
- If you already have service with AT&T do not activate or install Youtube Fix

Im hoping this tutorial has the “Winpwn for dummies” feel to it. Ive never used this process and with all new things, a little worried about trying something new that could potentially lose my unlock.
if your on 2g iphone , i would still wait personally until the dev team finishes refining the unlock for 3g 2.0 because then you know the 2g unlock for 2.0 will be solid

Can someone plz HELP!!! I like to think I’m pretty good @ upgrading/downgrading/jailbreaking/unlocking my 4g 1st generation Iphone. After all I have been doing it now for over a year. (LOL) I cannot cannot cannot get this winpwn to work. I have tried everything! I have uninstalled/reinstalled Itunes, Winpwn, 2.0 everything. If someone can give me some advice I would love you forever!! I keep getting this error: Cannot create IPSW…I don’t get it….I go through the steps EXACTLY & it says Itunes is pwnd so I go back into Itunes to restore the custom file & IT WILL NOT WORK!@!@@ HELP!! PLZ!!! I am lost without my jailbroken phone even though I know I can’t get the installer yet…I have faith in the DEVTEAM & know that it won’t take much longer

Could I just raise a question, I’ve heard people refer to custom IPSW builder. I’m new to jailbreaking and I have no clue what that is. I have got the IPSW 2.0 file from itunes. Previous info on this subject on the site seem to just refer to it like it’s common sense. I’m probably just being thick. Sorry…
The IPSW Builder is a part of the WinPwn program. It takes the 2.0 ISPW firmware file you already have as a base, and changes it according to your settings. It’s what creates the custom firmware (ISPW file) that you restore your iPhone with. Hope that helps.

This version finally worked after getting many 1600 error messages with winpwn 2.0.

So if I want to create my own via Winpwn, how do I do that, will it not work since I am already PWNED or what

It should work. Just download a new .ipsw from the firmware page on this site. And when you go to build your custom .ipsw just make sure you load the one you just downloaded.

I have winpwned my iphone all works well cept visual vociemail. it is just calling my vocie mail anyone else have this proplem and if so how do you fix it?
I had this issue one time. Well, you can’t really call it an issue. The first time you hit visual voicemail it calls the voicemail and asks for your voicemail password. Just enter it and then then end the call when prompt to. Next time you go to check your voicemail it should be visual. Hope that fixes it.

Has anyone been successful doing a iTouch yet???? I have tried the last 3 versions and each time I get an unknown error code (6) when iTunes tries to restore the custom .ispw file.
error 6 has nothing to do with the tools, I was always in recovery not DFU, take a look at this youtube video on how to put yours in a true DFU:

WINPWN 2.0.0.3 OUT NOW STILL NO INSTALLER
i work hard have an 4g iphone 1st, download winpwn 2.0.0.3 have the usual error 1601 i think i but on 2.0 firm via apple a then put my custume firmware via winpwn this work perfect don’t show any error i tested for a couple day an tell my last opinion
after i run the custom iwps in winpwn every window closes i have deleted winpwn and reinstalled it and it still just closes, it shows the custom iwps on my desktop. i then try to run the ipwnr and it also closes and dosent pwn, help!!
I managed to jailbreak but after I did it I went into cydia and it said I needed to update. I attempted the updates but its froze canny anyone help?

I am trying to pwn my 3G iphone and I successfully created the custom firmware and pwned iTunes. I put the phone into DFU mode (full screen black and shows up on iTunes that it needs to be restored). I shift + restore to custom firmware and I get an error message saying: the iphone could not be restored. an unknown error occurred (1)
I am using the newest winpwn (2.0.0.3) and I think I’m doing everything correctly. Please let me know if I’m doing something wrong. Thanks in advance!
