  1. No, but I would if there was an “per-keyboard” option – I’m using several keyboards and some of them aren’t good in “guessing” and I would turn it off for those.

  2. I really think Apple should let iPhone users add words to the iPhone library. Like, “lol”. I’m getting a little sick of my iPhone correcting that into “LOL” And I’m also tired of my iPhone correcting “Texting” into “Testing”.

Nevertheless, I am very, very thankful for the auto-correction. I just wish I had a few more customizable settings for it.

    • Absolutely! I agree 100%. Someone needs to great an app or mod that let’s you make custom auto correct words.

    • The auto-correction is adaptive. It will “ask you” to substitute for one it was pre-programmed with but you can decline the suggestion. The more you decline the the faster it will “learn” to substitute the word you want.

    • Yes, but it takes forever for the iPhone to learn certain things. My iPhone still won’t let me type “lol” or “texting”, and I’ve had my iPhone for about a year. Plus, it still won’t let you add your own words to the dictionary.

But Snappy, you make a good point. I just think that settings for the auto-correction would be helpful.

When you get the popup for the autocorrection, it has an X to the right of the suggestion. Just tap the X and it will NOT auto correct. Mine is learning my ways and the more I teach it, the better it gets…..It even Autocorrects my last name….LOL

I agree this is a much needed modification i cant take lol anymore its driving me mad! (typing this on my iphone not sure why it didnt correct lol that time?) I understand that texting is not a real word but i dont care it needa to become one!

  4. i finally turned it off after sending yet another embarrassing email. I was typing so fast and sending that i didn’t realize some of my words were “corrected” by auto correction. I do not miss it one bit.

does anyone remember when the appstore first was released and it had the option to browse all apps by release date and it was updated constantly? i want to know what is the best source/way to see when new apps are released and which apps have updates to them (ones i havent purchased), and in a chronological order and not just for the popular/sponsered apps, but for all apps? perhaps AIS could make a poll asking that question of where people discover/hear about new apps and app updates?. thanks

  6. I do because i write in my language with english characters so it’s very annoying :P
