The update to version 3.0 of Tetris makes a few changes to the application. When you open the app, you will notice that the lower menu bar no longer contains the options; Main Menu, Credits, Info and Settings. Instead the lower menu bar now has the options; Donate and Start. This is ok because the credits have been moved to the intro screen and the Setting menu had not been implemented yet. So, the only thing you are losing is the more Info option. Once in the application, you will notice two new options on the lower menu bar; Pause and Hold Piece.
The Hold Piece option will take the piece that is currently falling and remove it…adding it to middle of the lower menu bar, thus “holding it.” It will then automatically drop the next piece in line. I was hoping that you could later use the piece that you are holding but, I didn’t see any way to do that…maybe in the next version. If you select Pause, you will get a pop-up with the options; Return to Game, New Game and End Current Game (which will exit the app). I also noticed that when you complete a row, it will give you a nice overall saying single, double or triple. I do however think that the app seems a little slower and not as smooth after the update. Tetris is available through the BigBoss source.

Hey, Brooke. To use the piece you’re holding, just press hold again.
Huh…I tried that the first time and it didn’t work. But, I tried it again just now and it did! Thanks for the info!
there are annoying bugs in the game.
removing 4 full lines at a time is not always done properly, the tiles not included in the removed lines are changing location. some of the tiles are not removed from screen and next falling tiles are passing throu. sometime when removing a single you are granted for a double.
when the screen is refreshed for next game it is not always clean from previous tiles.
At the game start you are asked for your name, it is displayed on the right hand of the screen but with no additional use (no high scores).
By the way, removing 4 lines in one shot is called tetris.
points are given accordingly:
removing 1 line (“single”) = 150 points
2 lines = 400
3 lines = 850
4 lines = 1500
