Tricker ThreeG is a mod that allows the SlingPlayer Mobile application (available via the App Store for $29.99) to work on not only WiFi but also on 3G. It is not very often that I write about an application/mod/hack that I cannot test but, I know that allowing SlingPlayer Mobile to work on 3G is something a lot of people want. If you you own a SB, have purchased the SlingPlay Mobile application and have installed this hack…let us know how it is working for you! It would be pretty sweet if it actually works. The Tricker ThreeG apps also says that it works with Skype and Fring. You can get it via the modmyi source.

Is this any different from VOIPOver3G?
If the VOIPover3G.plist file is edited to:
Filter = {Bundles = (”com.Fringland.Fring”, “com.apple.AppStore”, “com.audiofile.Interstate”, “com.apple.MobileStore”, “com.slingmedia.SlingPlayer”);};
it adds 3G operation of SlingPlayer.
I’m suggesting one is better than the other, just suggesting an alternative.

I suggest you use the VoiPover3G method.

Here’s how to edit the plist file:
SSH into your device and browse to /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries then edit VoIPover3G.plist file, adding: com.slingmedia.SlingPlayer in between quotes like the other bundles present.
I did this and tried it using Edge (since I don’t have a 3G) and it works. The Edge speed made it really choppy, but it did work. The app works great on Wi-Fi. I’m so glad Apple allowed this in finally!

need help tried the VOi method and i still cant get my 3g to work with sling i have the sling classic and it works with wifi could the classic be the problem? does the phone setting still have to be on wifi on setting?

Hey guys just wondering if you could help me out. I do not know much on how to SSH or anything like that. I did install Tricker ThreeG once before and it worked great for me then I had to restore my iphone, and that’s when my problems started. I can no longer find Tricker ThreeG to be able to install it on my iphone again. I don’t have a clue on how to find it.
