Volume Buttons Disable Hack

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

##ICON_NAME## Volume Buttons Disable is a hack that does exactly what the title says… disables your volume buttons. As soon as you install the hack, and your device resprings, the volume buttons on the side of your device will no longer work. I’m not exactly sure why you would want this but… there’s a hack for that!

If for some reason you do install this hack, you can always adjust your volume using the SBSettings Volume Slider Widget which allows you to quickly adjust your volume via a slider in SBSettings.

Five Icon Dock A few days ago there was an update to the Five Icon Dock mod…sorry, I forgot to write about it! Either way, hopefully this update fixes it for those of you experiencing issues. Below is all the info I have about the update (which isn’t much). Read more

FontSwap Update – Fixes Default Alignment Issues

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

FontSwap The update to version 1.5 of FontSwap does a few things. First off, it adds a new Restore Default Fonts option which allows you to change all fonts back to default at once (instead of having to go into each option and change them back to default one at a time). It also fixes the default alignment issues. Now, when you go back to the default system font, the badge, time…etc are all aligned correctly. YAY! Read more

Fix For FontSwap Alignment Problems on 3.0 Firmware

FonwSwapJust a quick update about the problems we were having with the alignment of fonts on 3.0 firmware. The other day I noticed that when I set my system font back to default with FontSwap, the alignment was off on my badges, clock, toggle switches and more. Even after uninstalling the app I still had problems. I figured out that if I used the stock font from 3.0 firmware and SSH’d it in the “default” folder of FontSwap it would fix the problem. I’m assuming that the developer just left the 2.0 firmware font in the default folder instead of using the 3.0 font. If you need the original you can download it here: http://www.appleiphoneschool.com/files/stockfont.zip

WeatherIcon Update – Changed Source?

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

WeatherIcon Yesterday, there an update was release for the WeatherIcon mod. The update is through the modmyi source. It doesn’t make any changes to the mod however, it does replace the mod via the david.ashman.com source. I’m not sure if David has moved his mod to the modmyi source or if the update to the app mistakenly overwrites the david.ashman.com mod. Doug said he had a little bit of trouble with the update on his iPhone 3GS, he had to unisntall and reinstall it…then it worked. I didn’t have any issues with the update on an iPhone 3G running 3.0. Advanced Lock – Lock Screen Theme

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

Advanced Lock Advanced Lock is a lock screen mod. It looks like a log in screen in which you have to “scan” your finger to enter. You actually have to swipe your finger for it to work…you cannot just hold your finger on the spot. When you swipe your finger, a blue finger print will show up. This mod can be activated/deactivate via WinterBoard and is available for both the iPhone and iPod Touch. You can get Advanced Lock through the iSpazio source. Read more

WeatherIcon 2.1.14 – Fixes Phone Bugs

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

WeatherIcon There have been a few updates to the WeatherIcon mod since the last time I wrote about it. The updates were mostly bug fixes but, the update to 2.1.14 caught my eye. The update says, “This release “should” fix issues that people were seeing with phones running on EDGE that had incoming call issues. I got reports of problems with calls being dropped, no audio, and other oddities. This release should handle that more gracefully.” Read more

LiveClock Update – Smoother 3.0 Integration

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

LiveClock LiveClock has been updated to version 0.4. Before the update, the LiveClock mod worked but, it was a little weird…when you first installed it, it would display six hands instead of three and you would have to tap at the very bottom of the Clock icon to open the stock Clock application. Well, the update fixes these problems. I no longer had a problem with the mod displaying six hands and the Clock application opens normally. Read more

SpringBoard Clock Update

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

SpringBoard Clock There is an update to SpringBoard Clock, a mod that adds the current time and date to your SpringBoard, to version 1.1. The update is said to change the app so that the user can use their own wallpaper and includes some bug fixes. I gave the update a shot and I’m still not having much luck. The wallpaper of the mod has been changed to a blank wallpaper but, I still cannot use it with another theme’s wallpaper (by moving the theme above the SpringBoard Clock mod in WinterBoard) or use my own wallpaper with the mod (by moving User Wallpaper above the SpringBaord Clock mod in WinterBoard). Let me know in the comments if it is working for you. You can get SpringBoard Clock via the modmyi source. Remember, there is an English version of the mod. Read more

Left-Handed Slide to Unlock

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

Slide To The Left Doug and I have a friend who recently purchased an iPod Touch. After doing so, one of the first things he asked us is if there was a way to have the “Slide to Unlock” go the opposite direction. I was like, why in the world would you want that? Apparently it is more natural to slide from right to left for a left-handed person. Well, it turns out that there is indeed a hack that changes the slide to unlock direction…who knew! (Probably all the left-handed people!)

WeatherIcon Update

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

WeatherIcon It seems we have another update to the WeatherIcon mod. Once again, I had no problem with the update on an iPhone running 2.2. The mod also seems to be working a little better with the 3.0 firmware. The Status Bar part of the mod is looking much better and it now visible instead of being too high and getting cut off. I did notice that the Status Bar mod does not work correctly if you are adding the date to your Status Bar using SBettings. It did take a few resprings and disabling/enabling to get it to work correctly (Status Bar) but, that could have to do some of my mods and not the actual WeatherIcon app. Read more
