SBSetting Volume MC SBSetting Volume MC is a SBSettings toggle that turns your volume control into iPod controller. Once installed, the app is added to SBSetting (you may need to go into the More/Set Toggles options and turn it on). When it is activated, it turns your volume control on the side of your device into a controller for your iPod allowing you to scroll through your songs.

If you tap the volume up button on your volume control, it will go forward a song. If you tap the volume down button, it will go back a song. If you quickly tap the up and then the down button on your volume control it will pause the song. You can then either tap the up or down button to start the song again. One thing I like about this app is that it starts your iPod when you tap up or down. You do not have to go into your iPod start your music and then the app works. You can use SBSetting Volume MC to start your music.

The only problem I have with this app is that I am so used to using my volume control for my volume that I keep accidentally changing my song when really I want to adjust the volume. If you are going to use the SBSetting Volume MC app, I would suggest also installing the Volume Slider Widget. It is a SBSetting toggle as well which allows you to have an easy way to adjust your volume.

One thing that would be nice is if you held the volume button down, it affected the volume. So, instead of just a quick tap on the volume button to change the song, if you held down the volume up button, it would turn up the volume. Or maybe if you held the volume button up or down, it would fastward or rewind the song. That would be cool too….either one I guess!

Volume Slider Widget? Can you add a link to this one so we can read up on how it works.

I agree that it would be nice to be able to control both the songs as well as the volume….hopefully the volumne slider widget you speak of will make this work together.

For some reason, after I install this I don’t see it in SBsettings, but when I press the volume it does work. So I have no idea how to disable and enable it. I went into toggle and it was set to on too. So what is going on?

You have to go into the SBSettings and move things around so it is visible. I had the same trouble until I moved things or disabled tem from displaying on the sbsettings menu.

Yes, you need to go into the “More” option in SBSettings and then the “Set Toggles” option and turn it on.

Please make it like Sony Ericsson phones-hold for next and press once for volume.
Keep up the good works and thanks.

Yeah, it would be great. But without starting music with simple short click

I have waited for something like that. But it’s not perfect. It will be better, if it changes songs by longer click, and normal volume up/down when you click quickly. Starting media player with short click? Are you kidding me? It’s so useless.

Doesn’t seem to be 3.0 compatible….after installing it and enabling it and trying it reboots into Safe Mode.

I agree with the article’s last sentence. The iPhone has no hardware button to fast forward or rewind, I use my iPhone for language learning and this aspect is useless. Even my 5-10 year old PDA could do that.
