Ok, so I’ve been running the 3.0GM the day after WWDC. The only thing I’m looking forward to right now is the push notifications. And of course my new iPhone 3G S on Friday. Has anyone heard anything about the push notifications yet? Right now I’m looking for that extra “Notification” tab in settings. And its not there yet. Am I missing something to get the push notification started?

Get tap tap revenge 2…that is the only app that supports push notification for thye time…therl b other apps later

  22. netozone.iphone says:

Updated to 3.0, but can’t connect to appstore to finish it…. I guess apple screw up again…another network down issue…

  23. Thomas says:

Great “iPhone Activation Server is currently down, check back shortly”

Probably would have been a good idea to let people start downloading before the sun was up for the whole country.

    • Peter says:

Do you get this message too?

“We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection timed out.”

    • Thomas says:

Nope, it let me download 3.0 and it checks my current software…then a message pops up that the Activation Server is temporarily down.

      So frustrating.

  24. Randall says:

getting the same error as everyone else I assume, left with an emergency lock screen and no phone…

  25. Jeremy says:

Activation server is down. Can’t do a restore. This stinks.

  26. Avery says:

had the same issue. unplug it. turn off iphone. then turn it back on and plug it back in. it activated for me after a brief message saying it might take awhile. phew.

  27. Sean says:

    Have a look here:

    http://www.quickpwn.com/forums/iphone-os-3-0/4446-jailbreak-iphone-os-3-0-a.html

, looks like quickpwn is imminent!

    woo hoo!!!

  28. Michael Seltzer says:

Wait… couldn’t this be unlocked with one of the quickpwn 3.0 beta unlocks?

  29. pupss says:

I’ve tried by switching off n on my iPhone but no result. Still it shows the activation server is down. Any idea when its going to be online again…..;) can’t wait.

    • Viresh says:

      There is a workaround.

When iTunes is extracting the file, switch off you internet connection on your computer before it completed the extraction. This will bypass the activation.

After the iPhone has been updated, just re-enable your internet connection and once iTunes connects to the iTunes Store, it will activate your phone.

      Enjoy.
