Starting today, UK cellular service provider, O2, announced they will allow iPhone owners to unlock their iPhones for free. You will need to continue paying your bill through your current contract. This allows you to travel through Europe or other countries and swap out the SIM card to save on roaming fees. All you need to do is fill out this request form and once approved you can unlock through iTunes. The request may take up to 14 days to process. Anyone planning on unlocking their iPhone through O2?

Firstly, complete the unlocking form – it will take up to 14 days for the iPhone to be unlocked and we’ll text you to confirm the unlock request. Then place a non-O2 sim into the iPhone and connect to iTunes via a USB cable. iTunes will confirm that the iPhone has been successfully unlocked.
