Ok ok… it seems there is quite a bit of speculation going around as to what the SHAtter jailbreak is… tethered or untethered. (For those of your who are still catching up… SHAtter is the name of the jailbreak the Chronic Dev Team is currently working on for iOS 4.1). It seems that there is a bit of confusion. Yesterday, @MuscledNerd (a Dev-Team member) tweeted that @pod2G had found a jailbreak exploit. Today MuscleNerd went on to say “tweet” that the exploit works on iOS 4.1. He also mentioned that the exploit not only works on the iPhone 4 but also the iPad and the iPod touch 4. So… hopefully we are getting closer to a jailbreak! @pod2g tweeted that there will be a demo available soon (which I was trying to hold out for) but I haven’t seen it yet. It seems that iOS 4.1 has indeed been released today as speculated. Below is the change log for the new iOS. Some of the major features of the firmware include; Game Center, HDR Photography, iTunes TV show rentals and a bug fix for the iPhone 4 proximity sensor (which we know many will appreciate… including Doug’s grandpa!).
