Joshua Bryant has designed some new matte SMS bubbles for texting. If you have Customize installed you can just make a folder in /private/var/root/Library/Customize/Chat1Images/ called Matte and copy them there. You’ll also want to do this for /private/var/root/Library/Customize/Chat2Images

This is a great app that gives you back the features of Customize 1.13 by making version 1.13 compatible with version 1.1.1 of the iPhone. One of the features that I missed the most in the new Customize (version 1.18) is the ability to change the number of icons in my dock. Thanks to modmyifone…it is back. This app is installed through the modmyifone source and adds another customize icon to your springboard titled CustomizeNM. Just like in version 1.13 you hide icons by dragging them down into the “hidden” section (to drag an icon just tap on it, which brings up three little bars on the right side, tap on those and drag the icon where you would like it.) It also has a feature to put your icons in alphabetical order. If you tap settings you will get options for the number of icons in your dock, number of icons in your springboard and the ability to restore to backup. One thing you have to remember with CustomizeNM is that you will need to tap Save before you exit or will lose all the changes you just made. [Read more…]

I finally had a chance to play with the new Customize (though Doug has already messed with his and wrote a post about it yesterday) but, I just wanted to add a few of my observations. First of all it is AWESOME that the “hide” feature is now working!! Scrolling through pages and pages of apps to find the one I wanted was not working well for me. It also didn’t help that all the apps were randomly placed…but, that is another AWESOME thing…the “organize” feature was also fixed with the update and is working great. One of the things I have found to be slightly difficult in the “new” customize, is scrolling through the apps without accidentally “hiding” one of them. I love that it is as easy as a tap to hide something but, I think it might be a little too easy. I did find a way around this. [Read more…]
There is an update to Customize today. This update fixes the issues with icon arranging. Interface is much better and hiding apps works by just tapping the app. An icon of an eye appears and dissapears to show the “hidden” status when tapped. So far this is functioning perfect for me. Another update tonight for Customize seems to have fixed the main issues of rearranging icons. This is now working although allowing for hidden icons is not. I’m guessing they are working on it. This will be so nice when completed. As long as you are ok with losing the hidden icons feature you can update. Here are the screenshots:
I noticed an update for Customize while out to dinner tonight so I checked out the more info option in Installer.app and saw that they updated the icon reorder list feature. I just had to try it. Unfortunately, after the update that feature doesn’t work anymore, not at all. There is no dividers between springboard and hidden anymore, arranging icons has no effect, and the button to return back to customize does not work either. Also, no matter what I do [Read more…]
