Black Friday iPhone App Sale

App StoreAlong with all the sales today, developers are also putting apps on sale. Here’s a list of some of the better deals I’ve found. Again, if you find any others, let us know in the comments.

Sales:

PING!Ping! which used to be free and then recently raised their price to $0.99 is now free again for Black Friday. Ping is an instant messeger app with push notifications. You can only talk from Ping! to Ping! app but if you’re looking to save on text messaging this is a great app. A recently new feature is the ability to send picture. This feature is an in app purchase upgrade of $0.99. iTunes Link

TomTomHonestly, even with the sale price, I still think the TomTom app is way over priced, but if you’ve been waiting for it to go on sale and $69.99 is a good deal to you, then today’s your day. Personally I’m looking for a price more like $29.99. This is pricing for the US and Canada version. Original price is $99.99. Price good through Monday, November 30th. iTunes Link

ColorTiltColorTilt, a popular finger painting program, is on sale for $0.99 along with all five of their apps. These include ColorTouch, Dotty Shapes, Hold On! and Serpents all for $0.99. iTunes Link

readdledocsReaddle has announced Black Friday sale for their popular iPhone products Scanner Pro, application that transforms the device into portable scanner, ReaddleDocs, document and file management solution for the iPhone, and several others. They are offering discount up to 40% off regular prices for the applications that will last until Saturday, Nov 28th. iTunes Link

TomTom Creates Car Kit Giving First Gen iPhone and iPod Touch GPS Capability

##ICON_NAME## Earlier this week, TomTom updated their app allowing the TomTom applications to be installed on the first gen iPhone and the first and second gen iPod touches. Previously, the app could only be installed on the iPhone 3G and 3GS. With the update to the app comes a new product… a TomTom Car Kit for the iPod touch.

The iPod touch Car Kit is priced at $99.95 ($20 less than the iPhone Car Kit). The Kit is currently not available and based on the iPhone Car Kit who knows when they will have it ready! Just kidding! They say it is coming soon and it can already be seen on TomTom’s website.

TomTom Car Kit Finally Available – Sort Of

##ICON_NAME## Ok, we have been doing this TomTom Car Kit thing for almost two months now, but it seems that they might finally be getting down to business… sort of. The TomTom Car Kit is now displayed on both the Apple Store and TomTom’s website however, there are a few catches.

First, the price now seems to be $119.95 instead of the announced price of $99.99. Second, the Apple Store says that the product is, “Currently Unavailable” and TomTom’s website says that it is, “Currently not available through TomTom.com.” So, although it seems to be “ready”, they obviously are not shipping yet.

Basically, they have already delayed the Kit once so instead of delaying it again (missing their October deadline) and looking really bad, they have put the item up so it looks available when really… it’s not.

TomTom unveils the price of the TomTom car kit for the iPhone

London, 24 September 2009 – TomTom announces today that the TomTom car kit for the iPhone will have a recommended retail price of £99.99

The TomTom car kit will be available this October and will be sold separately from the TomTom app. It will be compatible with the iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS.

All further details on the car kit will be made available soon.

TomTom Releases Offical Price of TomTom Car Kit

##ICON_NAME## We have been keeping you up-to-date on the TomTom Car Kit since it was first announced (which was only a month ago but wow, does it seem like a lot longer than that!). Today TomTom has released the “real” price of the car kit. It seems that the incorrect pricing information was put on the Application’s App Store page so, they have released a press statement with the correct details (see full press statement below). TomTom iPhone Car Kit Delayed

TomTom We have been keeping you up-to-date on the TomTom Car Kit for the iPhone and it seems the Kit has now been delayed until October. It was previously announced to be launched sometime this summer. TomTom’s spokesperson, Kevin Carter, says; “I can confirm that we have decided to take some extra weeks in order to deliver the highest quality on this innovative product,” Carter said. “So, the car kit will become available for purchase this October on www.tomtom.com.”

TomTom Car Kit Demo Video

TomTom About a week ago, TomTom’s App Store application was approved and became available in the App Store. In the review, I also mentioned that TomTom would be releasing a Car Kit for the iPhone. The car kit is still not available on the website but, they did release a demo video for the kit. Check it out below.

tomtomicon TomTom’s application has finally hit the App Store. The app is available for the US & Canada, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The cost of the app varies based on which location you need it for. The US & Canada compatible version of the application is $99.99.. see the list below for additional pricing options.

The application is compatible with both the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS. The app boasts turn-by-turn directions as well as many other features (see list below).
