Gowalla Update Fixes Crashing with WinterBoard/Jailbreak

Just a quick update: Gowalla has released update 3.

0.1 which has fixed the crashing problem on devices running WinterBoard, a jailbreak app that lets you customize the look of your iPhone. Of course it doesn’t say that in the despcription but I tested it and it’s working now. I’m on an iPhone 4, jailbroken running WinterBoard.

More Cydia Crashing (December 28th)

Cydia My Cydia started crashing on my today and I’ve heard of others having the same problem. ~~I’m looking for a fix and if I hear of one I’ll let everyone know.~~ I’ve found a solution by searching Twitter :)

It seems the only people having trouble have the macciti/zodttd’s source. There is no need to restore your iPhone.

Here is a simple fix:

– Connect to your iphone/ipod via either ssh, mobile terminal, ifile, diskaid or some other type of usb file system browser. Browse to /var/lib/apt/lists/
– Delete cydia.zodttd-1.com_repo_cydia_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_Packages. Mine was actually /var/lib/apt/lists/cydia.

AppStore Apps Crashing – Restore

AppStore It has been a few days since I have been able to catch up on iPhone news, as those of you who follow Doug or my Twitter know (ahhyeah and bporter), I’m not feeling well lately! Well today, I was taking a look at the list of 25 top free apps and was suprised to see one that I was very familiar with…Earth3D. Well, I installer Earth3D however, when I went to open it, it just crashed back to the SpringBoard. So, I decided to go try another application…which crashed as well. This is on my personal iPhone (not one of our test iPhones) so, it only has the AppStore and is not jailbroken. I did notice that I was having some issues last night while recording our video podcast but didn’t think anything of it.

Well, it seems that ALL my AppStore apps are crashing, not a single app will stay open.

So, after trying a few fixes, wishing my iPhone was jailbroken so I had SSH access and finally giving up…I ended up restoring. And like Doug, will be jailbreaking my 2.

0.1 firmware using WinPwn 2.0.0.4. I’m curious to know if anyone else has had this problem and if you were able to fix it or ended up restoring.

MobileNuker

So while looking for info on Lights Off I found some other projects by the same developer. One is called MobileNuker. It’s a pretty simple app that allows you to crash a windows machine by entering it’s IP address. Here’s a video of it working:

Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart – Preview
