RainbowLight

RainbowLight This is a new app from the ModMyiFone source. If you use the app Light you will love this one too. The app opens to a blank screen, just tap the screen to get a color to come up. You can then change the color of the screen by dragging your finger vertically (top to bottom) on the right side of the screen. To change the brightness of the color on the screen just drag your finger horizontally (left to right). The colors fade from one to another creating a large color gradient. You can also go from black to white by dragging your finger vertically (top to bottom) on the left side of the screen. If you want to get to a white screen quickly just tap in the bottom left corner. If you want to get to a black screen quickly just tap on the top left corner. The only downfall to this app is it doesn’t keep your color when you reopen the app. I would love for mine to open to the color in the screenshot below!

iApp-a-Day – Mixup

Mixup The app for November 21st is “Mixup”. This is a great little app. It opens to a screen of blocks with letters on them (they look like little scrabble blocks). The letters are mixed up but, when put in order they form a word. To move the letters around just drag them. When you have the word spelled correctly a screen pops up that says, Correct! and shows you the word. It also has a play again button that you can tap to get a new word. The largest word that you can get is a six letter word. One observation is that a few times I had letters that spelled more then one word and had to change it until I got the right one. Other than that, this is a SUPER fun app, definitely one I will keep installed. Also, after looking at the code…it looks like there are quite a few words programed into the app and even the potential to add your own words up to six letter long…so play away! Here are some screenshots:

iSnake

iSnake iSnake is a new app in the ModMyiFone.com source. It is still a beta according to the information in the Installer.app. Even though it’s beta, it ROCKS. This game is addicting and just plain fun. In fact, it’s so fun that when you lose, that’s fun too. [Read more…]

Metronome

Metronome Metronome is a new app in the ModMyiFone.com source. This is a very simple app though, useful for many. The app opens to a white screen with a metronome in the middle. It is set to a default of 120 beats per minute and will return to 120 beats per minute every time you reopen the app. To start the metronome just give it a little swipe with your finger. To change the tempo, just tap and move the little circle to the desired tempo. [Read more…]

ModMyiFone Source

We’ve added a new source to our sources page and you can trust this one. ModMyiFone has published their own source at modmyifone.com/installer.xml. Just add it to your Sources in Installer.app. So far they have the following apps: iSnake, iPhoneSynth, Metronome and iToggle. There are also starting to add Summerboard themes. We’ve testing the summerboard theme and all the apps but iToggle and they are all working well with 1.1.1. Careful, you will get addicted to iSnake!

iApp-a-Day – Sleigh

Sleigh The app for November 20th is “Sleigh”. This app is simple yet challenging. It uses the accelerometer to control Santa sliding left to right in a sled to avoid the “falling ice of doom! If you get Santa killed, it’s all your fault no one gets presents.

New Game – iSolitaire

iSolitaire Today…a new game was released in the Installer.app…iSolitaire.

This app is exactly as it sounds…solitaire for the iPhone! After tapping on the application it will open to a basic “solitaire” screen. There are a few options in this game. To see the options, just double tap on any green area of the screen. You can then select to have a one card draw or a three card draw. You can also choose to deal again if you get stuck (just a quick note…you have to tap deal and then tap done for it to redeal, it will not bring you back to the main screen automatically when you tap deal). To deal a card, tap on the deck and to move a card where you would like it, just drag it and let go. When you get all the cards in the ace piles, therefore winning, the aces come out from the bottom of the pile and move and bounce around the screen based on how the iPhone is tilted. It is kind of fun! Here are some screenshots:

ScreenShot Update 1.1

ScreenShotI was really excited when this update came out because I’ve never gotten this app to work right. Well, unfortunately I still can’t get it to work. It seems to have some great new features like file type, saving path, button location but it just makes my iPhone crash. My guess is that it’s not compatible with Dock. I uninstalled it through Installer.app but that didn’t rescue my iPhone. [Read more…]

Search Update 1.04b

Search As soon as you open the app you will notice there is now a Search Calendar option. Before you could only go to a specific date, which you can still do, but now you can search by entering text. This is great if you title events with the word “birthday”. It also searches the location. A bug in my opinion is that it searches events from the past which would be a nice option, but not something I want it to do for every search. For example, if I search for ‘work’ it shows the first time I ever entered work because it is a repeating event and no others. Another downfall, which was in the previous version also, is that when selecting a contact from search you aren’t allowed to edit it. [Read more…]

iApp-a-Day – Hockey

Hockey The app for November 19th is “Hockey”. This app would be sweet if it was functional. We had a lot of trouble getting it to respond. It is a two player game and basically you lay the phone down on a table and use one finger each to move the paddle around to hit the puck. Hopefully there are some updates that make it respond better. Great idea though!
