I was really excited when this update came out because I’ve never gotten this app to work right. Well, unfortunately I still can’t get it to work. It seems to have some great new features like file type, saving path, button location but it just makes my iPhone crash. My guess is that it’s not compatible with Dock. I uninstalled it through Installer.app but that didn’t rescue my iPhone. [Read more…]
iApp-a-Day – Hockey
The app for November 19th is “Hockey”. This app would be sweet if it was functional. We had a lot of trouble getting it to respond. It is a two player game and basically you lay the phone down on a table and use one finger each to move the paddle around to hit the puck. Hopefully there are some updates that make it respond better. Great idea though!
iApp-a-Day – Level
The app for November 18th is “Level”. This is another one of those “It’s about time!” apps. Using the accelorometer in apps for something functional is both creative and benificial. This app turns your iPhone into a level. Just lay your iPhone on the table or put one of it’s edges along a wall and you’ll see the ball move inbetween the two lines as long as you’re level. Simple app & function app. One you can install and keep, not just for fun.
iApp-a-Day – Collage
The app for November 17th is “Collage”. This app is a combination of a few other apps. It allows you to take pictures or write text and add them to a constant changing collage on the screen. New pics & text fade in as they are created. The author has also added a link to view the collage on the web or digg iApp-a-Day right from the app.
Customize Update 1.18
There is an update to Customize today. This update fixes the issues with icon arranging. Interface is much better and hiding apps works by just tapping the app. An icon of an eye appears and dissapears to show the “hidden” status when tapped. So far this is functioning perfect for me. Let us know how it works for you! Screenshots later today.

iApp-a-Day – Elmo
The app for November 16th is “Elmo”. I bet you can guess what this app does. That’s right, it simulates a tickle me Elmo doll. Just tickle elmo and the iPhone vibrates and laughs just like the real doll! A big difference from the original doll is the lack of variety in the laughs. Here’s what it sounds like.
iApp-a-Day – Midterm
iApp-a-Day – Panic
The app for November 14th is “Panic”. Due to some controversy over at iApp-a-Day, the designer/founder of the iApp-a-Day Project put out an app expressing his frustration:
iApp-a-Day – Interval
The app for November 13th is “Interval”. Got a big date coming up? Christmas? Wedding? Baby due date? Enter the date and this app will tell you the years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds until it happens. If you need a date in the year 3000 and beyond you’re out of luck, this app stops at 2999. :) In all serious though, a big downfall to this app is that it doesn’t keep the date and countdown once you leave the app. Check out an app called iCountDown in the Installer.app under Ste Packaging Source for an app that allows 4 countdowns and retains your dates. We’ll do a post about iCountDown soon!
Customize Update 1.17
Another update tonight for Customize seems to have fixed the main issues of rearranging icons. This is now working although allowing for hidden icons is not. I’m guessing they are working on it. This will be so nice when completed. As long as you are ok with losing the hidden icons feature you can update. Here are the screenshots:
Customize Update 1.16
I noticed an update for Customize while out to dinner tonight so I checked out the more info option in Installer.app and saw that they updated the icon reorder list feature. I just had to try it. Unfortunately, after the update that feature doesn’t work anymore, not at all. There is no dividers between springboard and hidden anymore, arranging icons has no effect, and the button to return back to customize does not work either. Also, no matter what I do [Read more…]
TTR Update 1.3
TTR (tap tap revolution) just released an update to version 1.3. The most obvious change is that when you open the game for the first time after the update it will ask you to enter your name (once you have picked your user name you can’t change it!). This is a SWEET new feature used to give you credit for the beats you have created but, even better, when you finish tapping to a song it gives you the option to send it to the internet and when you do that it puts your name on a list of top scores – if you are not in the top 9 scores it puts your name as number ten and the top nine and their scores above you (and yes, that is my name you see 3rd on Dance Off ) Some other cool new features are [Read more…]
iApp-a-Day – Scribble
Available In: Installer | Price: Free |
The app for November 12th is “Scribble”. At first I was guessing this would be some type of spin off to Sketches but that’s not the case. First this app doesn’t use your finger as input. It uses the accelorometer to move the drawing point around and leaves a trail where you’ve been. You can change colors, erase the screen or email the final results.
SummerBoard Update 3.0b1
SendSong Update 0.21e
I noticed an update today to SendSong by Erica Sadun so I decided to give it a try. After a couple attempts to make ringtones I restarted my iPhone and it’s works. It’s main purpose is sending songs via email but it includes the option to create ringtones. In the update Erica adds the ability to send songs to other iPhones running SendSong. This update is also expected to improve reliability.
