Balls Up – Keep the Ball Off the Ground

Balls Up The object of Balls Up is to keep the soccer ball from hitting the ground. You do so by tapping on the ball. I have to quote the developer on this because it is soooo true, “Balls Up is a simple game that’s easy to pick up and play but deceptively hard to master.”

This application does not need much of a description…tap the ball to keep it in the air. Though, I did find that if you tap towards the bottom of the ball you will have a little more success. Now, for as simple as this game is, I’m seriously terrible at it! I don’t know if I’m like not getting into the groove of things or if I haven’t found the perfect way to tap the ball or what but, I can’t get over 11!! Yes, 11! Then I got too frustrated and had to put it down! Then, I made the mistake of looking at the Online Leaderboard (which opens in the application) where people have a score of 400 or more! So, my competitiveness kicked in and I gave it another shot. [Read more…]

SoccerGuide 0.1

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

SoccerGuide Looks like we didn’t have to wait very long! Over the week-end SoccerGuide was released. It looks to be pretty much the same as the preview screenshots. The application opens to a screen where you can pick from two leagues (Germany; Bundesliga and England; Premier League). Once you have selected a league you get the options to view Live Scores, New, Table, Results, Fixtures, Clubs, Credits and the ability to go back to the League screen. It looks as if the scores are brought to you via ScoresPro. They do not fit correctly in portrait mode but if you tip your iPhone to landscape mode it fits fine.

Euro2008 1.7.1

Euro2008 There have been a few update to Euro2008 (1.7 and 1.7.1) since the last time I did a review of the app. There are a few visible changes to the application. First off, Esperanto has been added to the list of available languages. I also noticed that Google Ads have been added to both the Live Results and Score sections. The Score section also gives you a quick view of the results. I also noticed a few minor changes to the English menu (though, these could be from a previous version). A few of the menu options have been renamed… [Read more…]

Euro2008 The update to version 1.4 of Euro2008 adds two more languages, Czech and Russian. Bringing the total number of supported language to eleven! There are also two new options on the main language menu; Live Scores and Results. Neither of these options are avialable yet however, once they are available, they will require internet connection. This is because the pages will be hosted on servers via the internet and will have up-to-date information. Euro2008 has also received a new icon…which I like! [Read more…]
