Ovals – WinterBoard Theme

Ovals, is a theme that changes your icons into vertical ovals. The theme contains 53 icons and a wallpaper (actually a few wallpapers). There are a few things I really like about this theme. The first is that the theme has a mask so that all your App Store icons are themed! Which is sweet! The second is that the theme file contains an icon template (a .psd file) so that you can create an icon for any jailbroke apps that might not already have one. Ovals would also work for any of you who use the FCSB mod. Personally, I had to make a few mods to the theme for it to look the way I wanted it to. In WinterBoard, I selected; user wallpaper (and then just used a black wallpaper), transparent dock and reflective dock. You can get this theme via the modmyi source. [Read more…]
Relax – WinterBoard Theme

Relax is a nice, calm theme that contains 34 icons, a dock, a wallpaper and a lock screen background. One thing to note about this theme is that when you install it, the theme’s iTunes icon does not display…it is in the file, it is just named incorrectly. If you are comfortable with SSH…you can SSH into the Library/Themes/Relax Theme/Icons folder and rename the icon file Itunes to iTunes…then it will show up correctly. Also, the red badge just does not go with this theme…I would have loved to have seen a nice semi-transparent badge (or maybe one that matched a little better!). But, it is still a nice theme that is easy on the eyes! You can get this theme via the iSpazio source.
How to Install
1. Your device must be jailbroken. (how?)
2. Make sure you have WinterBoard installed via Cydia.
2. Make sure you have the iSpazio source installed in Cydia.
3. Search for Relax in Cydia, run the install.
4. Open WinterBoard and activate the Relax theme.

Glass Two – WinterBoard Theme

Glass Two is a clean theme that contains 142 icons, dock, status bar and wallpaper. The theme also contains a template so that you can create your own icons (I love when they do that!!). The only issue I have with this theme is that the dock that that theme comes with has reflections of icons however, the reflections are (from left to right); Phone, Safari, iPod and Settings. I personally like to have different icons in my dock but, then it doesn’t reflect correctly. It isn’t a huge deal since you can easily change this using other docks in WinterBoard. 6 iPhone 3.0 Icons – WinterBoard Theme

6 iPhone 3.0 Icons is a theme that includes the Stocks, iPod, Phone, Voice Memos, SMS and MMS icons from the 3.0 firmware. When you install 6 iPhone 3.0 Icons (via the iSpazio source), it will add the theme into WinterBoard where it can then be activated/deactivated. When activated, the Phone, Stocks, iPod and SMS icons will change to the 3.0 icons however, you will not see the Voice Memos or MMS icons due to the fact that there are no apps with these titles on your SpringBoard (or at least not on my SpringBoard). But, the icons are in the theme’s folder so if you want them you can go to Library/Themes/iPhone 3.0 Icons/Icons folder on your iPhone or iPod Touch. I also added them to this post (see screenshots below) The theme only contains these six icons. I will say that I’m a little confused by the MMS icon…I’m not sure if it is based on the country you are in or what but, Doug does not have that icon on his 3.0 upgrade.

3.0 Beta Icons – Look like you have 3.0 Firmware!

3.0 Beta Icons is a mod that will change your SMS, Phone and iPod icons to look like the icons that come with the 3.0 firmware. When I installed this app, it did not show up in WinterBoard and my icons did not change to the 3.0 icons so, I did what I always do…restarted my iPhone. However, that didn’t work so I uninstalled and reinstalled that app…that still didn’t work so I did some digging. When I SSH’d into my iPhone I found that the files had been added into the main root directory in a folder titled 3.0. So, I just copies the three icon files and added them into WinterBoard as a theme (instructions below) and then activated the theme in WinterBoard…it worked. Hopefully we see an update to the app that puts the folder in the correct place…which I’m assuming would be WinterBoard. This mod is available via the PwnCenter source.
Note: The Stocks icon is also different in the 3.0 Firmware but, that icon is not included in this theme.

BlackDarkness – WinterBoard Theme

BlackDarkness is a dark theme that includes a ton of mods such as; weather theme, chat bubbles, iPod UI, keyboard, dialer, sliders, badges, dock, statusbar, 260 icons, calculator…etc. Usually I’m not a big fan of themes that change a lot of the UI but, that is only because they usually are not very good. However, I was impressed with the mods in the BlackDarkness theme…they are well designed and fit the theme nicely. If you like themes that mod pretty much everything on your iPhone or iPod Touch…then you might want to check this one out. It is available via the modmyi source.

Flash- WinterBoard Theme

Flash is an interesting theme that is available via the iSpazio source. The stock theme comes with a wallpaper and 42 icons, 19 of which are extra icons that can be labeled (via SSH) as any application you would like. The 19 extra icons actually come in handy since both the Stocks and iTunes icons do not have an icon when the theme is installed stock.
Honestly, it took a little bit of work to get this theme to a state in which I thought it looked good. When you install it, there is no icon for Stocks or iTunes. However, because there are 19 extra icons, you can SSH in and pick any of those 19 and easily rename them to Stocks and iTunes. Also, the theme doesn’t comes with a dock so, I turned on the Transparent Dock and the ReflectiveDock in WinterBoard. This made the theme look better. I did go one step further and changed the wallpaper to just a plain black wallpaper so that there wasn’t so much going on in the theme. PlayGround – WinterBoard Theme

PlayGround is not a new theme for the iPhone and/or iPod Touch…we saw this theme back on the 1.1.4 (and below) firmware. However, it seems it has made it’s way to the 2.x firmware. The theme contains 120 icons (though, once again does not contain an icon for the App Store), a dock and a wallpaper. You can get PlayGround via the iSpazio source.
How to Install

2. Make sure you have WinterBoard installed via Cydia.
2. Make sure you have the iSpazio source installed in Cydia.
3. Search for PlayGround in Cydia, run the install.

Tecnicolor WinterBoard Theme

Tecnicolor is a WinterBoard theme available via the the modmyi source. When you install Tecnicolor, you will see three themes added to WinterBoard; Tecnicolor iPod Edition, Tecnicolor Lite and Tecnicolor. The Tecnicolor Lite theme basically only includes a StatusBar, Dock and Icons. The Tecnicolor theme includes a few other mods such as a wallpaper, lock background, badges…etc.
This theme does require the Five Icon Dock mod and some rearranging of icons. You will need to put the following icons on your dock (in this order) in order for the theme to work correctly; Contacts, SMS, Phone, Mail and iPod.

Topple WinterBoard Theme

Topple is a theme based on the application Topple (you can check out our video review of the app HERE). The theme includes a slider, 2 docks, 3 wallpapers, dialer and icons. There is a catch, not all apps have icons including; the Stocks, App Store and iTunes applications. However, if you are comfortable with SSHing into your iPhone or iPod Touch, there are 23 additional icons that you can easily rename for any application. The files also includes a .psd file so that you can create your own icons. The developer does say that he is going to add additional mods to the theme so, maybe we will see those three icons added as well (for those of you who do not like SSHing). Below are screenshots.
