BigBoss has written an article on a problem with the App Store/iTunes which also affects Cydia (and will probably also affect Installer 4.0). The problem has to do with installing applications. Have you had a time when you install an app and your iPhone just sits there…there is no icon and you have a spinning wheel next to your carrier icon on your status bar? This has happened to me once and Doug a few times. Though, it is always with App Store apps and never with apps installed via Cydia. Below is what BigBoss has to say about the bug.

Cracked App Store Applications
Doug and I knew that writing this post was inevitable.
Did I think I would be writing it so soon…no. But, what can I say, hackers are quick.
Cracked App Store Applications are in no way, shape or form, not even to the tiniest degree, supported by AppleiPhoneSchool.
com. Any comments on how or where to get cracked App Store applications will be deleted. If the comments persist the user will be banned from AppleiPhoneSchool.
com.
Cracked App Store Application = Any App Store application that has not been put into the Installer by the developer themselves.
Gizmodo’s App Contest
Gizmodo is holding a “contest” to find iPhone applications.
It includes both AppStore and Installer applications. Here is what they have to say:
You’re proud of the work you’ve put into your iPhone SDK application. Show us what you did. Email your entry to tips@gizmodo.com with the subject “iPhone SDK App Contest: Name of App” with the name of your app there. Each entry should include screenshots (as many as it takes to properly illustrate your program) as well as a 1 paragraph description telling us what it’s all about.

Average App Store Application Price: $2.29, 71% Will Be Free
Statistics from a survey taken by Piper Jaffray at the WWDC have some interesting results. The numbers aren’t going to be too accurate in my opinion because this is only based on 20 of the 5,200 developers at the conference. Here is the rundown:
• 50% are developing for only the iPhone & iPod Touch
• 50% are developing for the iPhone, iPod Touch & Mac
• 15% will use location based service
• 10% entertainment category
• 10% game category
• 15% enterprise level
• 70% have apps for other phones
Average cost of Apps: $2.29 USD
71% of apps: Free
Installer 3.11
The update to Installer version 3.11 adds the search feature to the Uninstall Category.
Which I think is great…there have been so many times when it would have been faster to search for an app then trying to find it somewhere in my Uninstall list!
Update (thanks to cool_guy): Version 3.11 also allows you to refresh one source at a time!
All you have to do is go into the Sources Category, select the source you would like to refresh and then select Refresh Now!!
Very cool guys…props! Check out the screenshots below to see what it looks like.
