IconMaker is a pretty cool application that allows you to quickly create custom icons right from your device. It turns images into nice shiny, rounded icons. Personally, this is an awesome application for me. I create icons all the time and now, instead of opening Photoshop on my computer and creating an icon, I can create it right on my iPhone!

FakeCarrier is an application that allows you to easily customize both your carrier name and time string in the Status Bar. The app is super simple to use. Once installed, it has three options; Fake Carrier, Fake Time and Show BatteryLevel. To change the carrier or time string just open the option, type your custom message into the space provided and select Set. The string will instantly change without having to close the app or respring your device… this is a nice feature because then you can instantly see what your custom string looks like and if you do not like it, you can just change it right there. To get the stock Carrier name of Time string back, just tap Reset. Simple and easy.

CustomBadges is an application that allows you to create custom badges… go figure! :) A custom badge can be added to any icon on your SpringBoard and can include; text, numbers, emojis, symbols… basically anything on your keyboard. It seems like it fits best to have a custom badge that is five characters or less. Once you have more than five characters it does not display correctly.

Metallic Glass Theme is a theme with transparent icons. Many of you know that I am always on the look-out for a new style of transparent icons (because you can change the wallpaper and feel like you have a whole new theme!). This theme contains a wallpaper, dock, sliders, 58 icons, loading screens, custom UI….etc.
I do have a few problems with this theme. The Message application doesn’t have an icon. There is an icon for SwirlyMMS so, you can always change it to your Message icon using ssh. Here are some instructions on how to manually get themes onto your iPhone and/or iPod Touch. These are instructions for firmware 2.x. If you need instructions for firmware 1.1.4 and below please see THIS post.
If a theme is not available through Cydia, you will have to add it manually yourself. You will need to have a jailbroke iPhone or iPod Touch in order to change the theme on your iPhone or iPod Touch. For more information on Jailbreaking, please see our F.A.Q. Page.
When you jailbreak your iPhone/iPod Touch, the Cydia application will be added to your SpringBoard with the rest of your applications. You will want to go into Cydia and search for the OpenSSH application. If it is not already installed, you will need to install it. [Read more…]
Today, version 2.87 of Ringtones showed up in my Installer in Recent Packages. However, version 2.87 of Ringtones has already been released (a month ago!). I did notice that when I installed the “update” it changed the application icon. There are no other visual changes to the application so, I’m not really sure what the deal is…maybe just an icon update. You can get Ringtones via the Skrew source.
PocketMac RingtoneStudio for iPhone is an application that allows you to create ringtones for your iPhone from a variety of multimedia files. You are able to create ringtones from sound affects, QuickTime videos, Mac friendly movie files and unprotected iTunes music files. One nice thing about PocketMac RingtoneStudio for iPhone is that it is available to everyone with an iPhone…no jailbreaking required.
