In my original review of Star Defense, we had been informed that the game would be released in the month of May. Since then, we have seen a few more demo videos and the projected May released date has been removed from any info. However, ngmoco (the developers of Star Defense), have a Press Event coming up on June 8th for Star Defense along with a few of there other apps (fast-paced shooter Death Match: Live Fire, the charming pet simulator Touch Pets: Dogs and the epic Rolando 2: Quest for the Golden Orchid).
Whether we actually see the apps released that day or not…I’m not sure but, it has got to mean that we are getting close. Below are a couple more demo videos then have released in the past few days [Read more…]

I know all you Sims fans out there are waiting for the release of Sims 3. Well, it seems that they are going to be releasing it for the iPhone and iPod Touch as well. According to the demo videos below…it will hit the App Store on June 2nd! Just a few more days! No info on how much it will cost but I think it is safe to say that, based on Sim City and the depth of the game, it will be in the $9.99 range. Probably totally worth it.
Below are a few demo videos and screenshots of the app. [Read more…]

Blokt – Puzzle Game

If you like puzzle games as much as I do, I’m pretty sure you’ll love Blokt. Blokt is a game where there are several different sized rectangles in the way of the red rectangle. The goal is to clear the way for the red to exit the box that the rest are in. The blocks that are pointing up and down can only move up and down and the blocks that are pointing side to side can only move side to side. The concept is pretty simple but then again, so is a rubix cube! That’s pretty much it… there are really no settings to speak of and as far as I can tell everything is pretty self explanatory. Balls Up – Keep the Ball Off the Ground
May 6, 2009 by
The object of Balls Up is to keep the soccer ball from hitting the ground. You do so by tapping on the ball. I have to quote the developer on this because it is soooo true, “Balls Up is a simple game that’s easy to pick up and play but deceptively hard to master.”
This application does not need much of a description…tap the ball to keep it in the air. Though, I did find that if you tap towards the bottom of the ball you will have a little more success. Now, for as simple as this game is, I’m seriously terrible at it! I don’t know if I’m like not getting into the groove of things or if I haven’t found the perfect way to tap the ball or what but, I can’t get over 11!! Yes, 11! Then I got too frustrated and had to put it down! Then, I made the mistake of looking at the Online Leaderboard (which opens in the application) where people have a score of 400 or more! So, my competitiveness kicked in and I gave it another shot. [Read more…]

The developer’s of Topple, Topple 2, Rolando and Dropship bring you Star Defense. I have actually been receiving info about ngmoco’s Star Defense for a while now however, it seems that the application is going to be showing up in the App Store some time this month so I thought it would be a good time to pass it along.
Star Defense is a tower defense game…it reminds me of games like Fieldrunners, Defend Your Castle and TapDefense. Like those applications, the object is to defend yourself against the on-coming enemy. We do not have a ton of info about the app but it does seem like you are able to buy/upgrade your defenses similar to other tower defense games. However, it also seems like you will be able to play against your friend’s via Twitter and Facebook. [Read more…]

Ok, I think that games that us the mic to blow into them are brilliant, but they make me light headed so they eventually get annoying. In this game, Air Sail, you blow your little Styrofoam boat around by blowing into the microphone. There is an option to use your finger and just tap on the screen to go but blowing is much more sensitive and easier to control. You just tilt left and right to steer, which is also easy to control. The graphics are pretty good and the way the screen zooms in and out based on your speed is a nice touch. A major feature is the ability to play multiplayer on a wifi network. Works great! Finger Twister – The Title Says It All

Price: $0.99 |
So, I’m sure most of you are familiar with the game that has different colored dots and the spinny wheel that tells you where to place your appendages called Twister. Well this app attempts to capture that same concept minus the spinney wheel. Finger Twister is a 1-2 player game that can be pretty challenging as dots appear and move around to different locations on the screen. The one player mode starts out with one dot and then quickly moves to two and then three. The hard part is remembering which finger needs to move to the next dot and doing so with out lifting any of your other digits already occupying other dots. [Read more…]
BrainFreeze – Challenge Your Brain With This Puzzle Game

Price: $1.99 |
BrainFreeze is a challenging puzzle game. The object of the game is to get each of the two cubes that are the same color to touch one another. I know, it sounds like your typical puzzle game but, this one is unique. When you tilt your iPhone or iPod Touch (or touch the screen…depending on which setting you have on)…all the blocks move in that direction. At first, the levels are pretty easy to get you used to the concept of the game. However, as the levels go on, they introduce different “challenges” into the game play such as fences, arrows, blocks, lock areas and pits. The challenges make the game very tricky and you truly have to use your brain in order to solve the puzzles! [Read more…]

Ok, so I posted on Twitter last night about a really sweet app that I said may be right up there with my favorite game, Fieldrunners. It’s nothing like it, but it’s fun, addicting, good graphics and even better, it’s customizable. The best way to explain it is to show you a video. So here’s a video from the developer. [Read more…]
