Wifi Blobs

winterboard Haha…I saw this in Cydia and just had to check it out! WiFi Blobs is a mod that changes your WiFi signal strength bars to these little “blobs.” The “blobs” are made up of three colors; green, yellow and red. If you have full WiFi signal, you get all three colors. If you have a decent WiFi signal, you will get the yellow and red blobs and if you have a low WiFi signal you will get only the red blob. I honestly think they are kind of cute. They don’t really fit with my theme but, if you have a theme they will work with…you might want to check them out!

Beaches – WinterBoard Theme

WinterBoard Beaches is a WinterBoard theme that switches between 24 wallpapers throughout the day (changing once an hour). I know, you are thinking…”This has already been done.” True, there is another theme very similar to this called Around The World in 24 (which I really like). However, this theme only includes beach wallpapers. Honestly, this is perfect for me. My preferred iPhone theme…when I’m not testing other themes…is clear icons with a beach wallpaper which I used to change about once a day or every few days. Well, now I do not have to change them on my own any more!

Note: Another thing I like about these type of themes is how easily they can be customized. If you are familiar with SSH, you can easily SSH into your iPhone or iPod Touch and replace the images in the theme with your own images. That way it will rotate through wallpapers that match your theme or wallpapers that you just like better. The images for this theme are located in the folder:

iPink – WinterBoard Theme

winterBoard Ok ladies, it seems that someone has finally taken pity on us and the fact that there is a massive lack in themes for us girls! iPink is now available via Cydia. It is a full UI theme. It changes basically everything on your iPhone to pink…from icons, to the calculator, to badges, to chat bubbles, to weather themes, to the keyboard, to all UI interfaces. It’s crazy.

Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the theme. There are a few aspects of the theme I do like however, other pieces seems a little too thrown together for me. But, if you are looking for a complete UI theme that is pink…this just might be the one for you! Check out the screenshots below.

WinterBoard Mods

WinterBoard There were a few pretty cool mods released in Cydia recently so I thought I would talk about a few of them. Each of the following mods use WinterBoard to enable/disable them. The first two I would like to mention are themes; Orange Burst and ubuntu. Neither theme seems to have a ton of icons but, if you are looking to just give your main SpringBoard page a new look, these might be for you.

Brilliant – WinterBoard Theme

WinterBoard Ok, DJContagious has been writing about a few of his themes so, I thought I would write about the one that I am using right now. I have been using since it was released a few days ago. The name of the theme is Brilliant. It has a decent amount of icons. It also mods the slider bars, wallpaper, lock screen wallpaper and badges. It is a little on the boyish side for me! :) But, other than that, I think it is a decent theme!

Stereo’s Leopard Theme

WinterBoard This is currently my favorite theme in Cydia! It’s called Stereo’s Leopard, and it was a theme I immediately remembered from Customize 2.0 back on 1.1.4. The one thing I love about this theme are the large (literally), and big amount of icons it has. It skinned about 50% of my icons, and has app themes too. Like MobileMusicPlayer (pictured below) for instance: usually, you would see a frozen screenshot of it for about 2 seconds, then would be able to use it. Those 2 seconds are when the app loads. Some of My Favorite Customizations

Apple iPhone SchoolA lot of my friends have iPhones and iPod Touches now and always ask me what I’ve done to customize it and where I got it. So, I thought I would post an article with some of them so everyone can check them out.

Starting with the top of my iPhone, the cellular signal bars… I like to change mine to multicolored bars. So when the signal is low, the bars are red. As the signal is stronger the color moves to orange, then yellow, then green for full strength. I found a couple of options in Cydia that allow you to do this. One is called “Color Signal Bars” and one is “Colored Signal Bars”. The colored one is a little too neon green for me so I went with the first one. Something really annoying with this is that when your status bar is light when some apps are open, the bars turn black. I want them colored all the time. Lets See WinterBoard Theme

WinterBoard As many of you know, I am a huge fan of clear icons. I love that I can change the wallpaper and feel like I have a whole new theme! One of my very favorite themes is Reveal via iSpazio. Well, this morning, I also ran across Lets See via modmyi. They are strikingly similar with just a small difference in placement of the icon label. New WinterBoard Themes

#WinterBoard Just yesterday I was writing that I couldn’t find a WinterBoard them that I liked and then voilà…today there is one! There are actually two that I am going to point out. One because it is unique the other because I set it as my theme!! I had a chance to look at a few of the themes you guys have suggested in my post from yesterday. Hopefully, I get a chance to look through all of them and do a post about the ones that are really cool!

WinterBoard and Firmware 2.1

WinterBoardThere seems to be some problems with WinterBoard and Firmware 2.1. The developer, saurik, is working on the issues and knowing his track record, it will be resolved soon so be patient. According to the info in Cydia under WinterBoard, here are the issues:

“Please note that the UIImages tool crashes on iPhoneOS 2.1. This issue is being examined (Apple completely changed how that cache works). Also, please note that your phone may “randomly” reboot about a minute after upgrading WinterBoard. I am also looking into this issue.”

Color Fading Theme for WinterBoard – Modding

WinterBoard There is a new theme available in the Cydia called Color Fading Theme. It is a WinterBoard theme so, you will need to have WinterBoard installed to use it. The theme nicely fades between three abstract wallpapers; green, blue and red. The theme does not have any icon, the icons will remain stock.

But, the really cool part is that if you are comfortable SSHing into your iPhone or iPod Touch, you can replace the three wallpapers with your own three wallpapers! The files are normal size (320×480) and can be either jpg or pgn files. Below are the steps on how to replace the wallpapers:
