Sonos recently announced the Sonos ZonePlayer S5 a powerful, wireless music system that not only delivers quality sound but also allows for remote access via the Sonos Controller App.
The Sonos ZonePlayer S5 is a 8.50in x 14.40in speaker that encases “five Class-D digital amplifiers” and “five driver speaker system (two tweeters, two 3” mid-range drivers, and one 3.5” woofer. Each driver of the product is individually powered by a dedicated amplifier).”
Another nice features of the system is that it can be controlled wirelessly from your iPhone (or iPod touch) via the Sonos Controller App. The app allows you to remotely control the music system giving you the ability to instantly access music stored on your computer, and play tunes from a NAS drive or Apple Time Capsule without turning on your computer, control the music selection and volume in each room individually, search for any song with the touch-screen keyboard and much more. This video isn’t specific to the iPhone but I thought I’d share it just to show the possibilities of the future. It’s originally from BBC. It talks about wireless charging devices, and I’m not talking close contact like the Palm Pre, this is actually wireless.
Nam’s Remote – Allround Remote Control

One of the first apps I downloaded was Apple’s very own Remote app, and though I don’t use it very much, I was definitely impressed with its ease of use and functionality. It was cool to be able to control my iTunes library on my home computer with my phone. With the success of the Remote app, I wondered what else I could control with my iPhone: my T.V, my lights, or my thermostat? With Nam’s Remote, I don’t get to do any of these things, but I do get access to a few interesting features.
Overview
Nam’s Remote was pretty easy to set up. You will need to download a separate application for the computer that you intend to control. After adjusting the settings on this app, you then need to establish a connection to your iPhone/iPod. This involves knowing the IP address, but the program helps you find it with ease. Once connected, you then have access to a wide range of functions ranging from using your iPhone as a trackpad (my personal favorite) to using it as a keyboard or controlling other programs on your computer such as PowerPoint and Windows Media Player. NemusSync 0.5.3 – Google Calendar & iPhone Sync Wirelessly

I have been waiting for an app like this for quite a while. Synchronization between the iPhone Calendar & Google Calendar. It even supports multiple calendars. The first time syncing took a while but I do have a lot of calendars and events. I got a lot of doubled up events because I had the same things on both the iPhone and the Google Calendar. I’m going to clear some out now that it syncs! Once you sync the first time it’s much quicker to sync. You can also see all the calendars shared to you and choose which one’s will show up on the iPhone. Read more
