Metallic Glass Theme – WinterBoard Theme

WinterBoard metallicblacktheme3 Metallic Glass Theme is a theme with transparent icons. Many of you know that I am always on the look-out for a new style of transparent icons (because you can change the wallpaper and feel like you have a whole new theme!). This theme contains a wallpaper, dock, sliders, 58 icons, loading screens, custom UI….etc.

I do have a few problems with this theme. The Message application doesn’t have an icon. There is an icon for SwirlyMMS so, you can always change it to your Message icon using ssh. And it doesn’t seem like the theme has the correct dock but, you can always use the transparent dock and it looks fine. You can get Metallic Glass Theme via the BigBoss source [Read more…]

Black Chrome – WinterBoard Theme

Black Chrome blackchrometheme2 Black Chrome is a unique WinterBoard theme. It contains a dock, wallpaper, lock background and 2,151 icons. When you activate the theme in WinterBoard, you need to activate both the theme and the icons…they are separate. I’m not a huge fan of the icon font but, you might like it. iWildFlowers – WinterBoard Theme

iWildFlowers iwildflowerstheme2 The iWildFlowers theme contains a wallpaper, dock, status bar, lock background, lock battery and 239 icons. It is a nicely designed, girly them! YAY for girly themes! :) It is compatible with firmware 3.0 and below. If you would like to use the WeatherIcon mod in conjunction with the iWildFlowers theme, you can install the Transparent Weather Icon via the modmyifone source. You will also need to install a WeatherIcon theme…I like the Katra-based Weather Icon theme via the david.ashman.com source.

BluIce – WinterBoard Theme

WinterBoard bluicetheme3 BluIce is a theme with kind of a space, futuristic feel to it. The theme contains 27 icons, a wallpaper, dock and statusbar. The only issue with this theme is that the Calendar icon is named incorrectly in the folder so, it doesn’t show up correctly without changing the name of the icon. If you are comfortable with SSH…you can SSH into the Library/Theme/BluIce/Icons folder and rename the icon from Calendarpng.png to Calendar.png (just remove the extra png). I also am not too sure about the Settings icon…it doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the theme. I think it would also be better with a blue badge instead of the stock red one. The Metal Thing – WinterBoard Theme

The Metal Thing themetalthing3 The Metal Thing is a pretty cool theme that contains 30 icons, moving wallpaper, dock, status bar, lock background, SMS background, sliders, badges, dialer, calculator…etc. This theme is unique in the fact that it has an “animated” wallpaper. In the center of the wallpaper is a blue sphere…inside the sphere you will get a nice lighting affect every once and a while. The icons also need to be in a specific order around the sphere. The rest of your icons can be placed wherever you would like them. (See screenshots below) I did notice that the animated wallpaper does making the icons a little laggy when in “move” mode however, it doesn’t seem to affect scrolling of SpringBoard pages. Round and Round – WinterBoard Theme

round & round roundandround3 Round and Round is a theme that consists of transparent round icons. Unlike the popular Glass Orb theme, Round and Round adds a bit of color with a colored graphic inside of each transparent circle. Honestly, I feel like I have seen these icons before but, I can’t come up with the name of the theme so maybe they are just similar to another theme’s icons. Round and Round only contains the basic 16 icons and a Cydia icon (no iTunes and App Store icons with this one), a dock and a wallpaper. However, the wallpaper is a little too crazy for me…I went with a plain black wallpaper. You can get Round and Round via the iSpazio source. [Read more…]

NativeUI – WinterBoard Theme

NativeUI nativeuitheme2 NativeUI is nice, clean WinterBoard theme. The theme does require just a little bit of set-up (nothing like an iNav theme does!). When you install NativeUI, there are a few things you need to do in WinterBoard. First, activate the NativeUI theme. You will also need to activate the No Docked Icons Labels and No Undocked Icon Labels options. Once out of WinterBoard, you will need to rearrange your icons slightly. In your top row of icons you want your Weather icon, your Calendar icon, a blank icon and your Clock icon. In the dock you will need the Phone, Email, SMS and iPod icons. You can put whatever icons you would like in your second and third row of icons. See the screenshots below. One thing I like about this theme is that it accommodate the WeatherIcon and LiveClock mods. There are not a ton of themes that do this, especially ones that are a little more unique like this one. Safety Not Guaranteed – WinterBoard Theme

Safety Not Guaranteed safetynotguarenteed2 Safety Not Guaranteed is a clear icon theme. I personally love clear icons because I can change my wallpaper and feel like I have a whole new theme! This clear icon set is actually a little different than most…it has a design to it. Most transparent icon themes tend to just be the stock icons…but see-through. The theme contains a dock, wallpaper, status bar, 128 icons and a few UI mods. I did find that I had a little bit of trouble getting the theme to work correctly with the LiveClock and WeatherIcon mods. In order for it to look correct, you can either disable both mods (using the LiveClock Disabled and No Weather Icon mods) or you can move your preferred weathericon and liveclock mods above the Safety Not Guaranteed theme in WinterBoard. Joulz – WinterBoard Theme

Joulz joulztheme3 Joulz is a simple, clean theme. It contains quite a few mods including; 446 icons, wallpaper, dock, status bar, badges, lockscreen wallpaper, sliders, calculator, notes, keypad…etc. The thing I really like about this theme is that it accommodates both the WeatherIcon and LiveClock mods, which is awesome. You also have the option to turn on a digital live clock. In order for the lockscreen to display your notifications correctly, you will also want to install the Lockscreen Clock Hide mod. iSimple – Unique WinterBoard Theme

WinterBoard isimple4 iSimple is a theme based off the iNav theme. Like the iNav theme, it uses Categories to put all your apps into two categories; Apps and Games. It then uses blank icons (webclips) to position the Games, Apps and Cydia icons correctly on the SpringBoard. You can choose which every apps you would like to put on your dock…which is nice. The Games and Apps icons are clear so that you can see the icons on the wallpaper. Once all your icons are positioned correctly (see screenshots below) you will want to check the No Undocked Icon Labels option in Cydia. The only thing I noticed with this theme is that the Cydia icon is not clear. You would think it should be so that it would match the Games and Apps icons…in which you can see the wallpaper through. iNav WinterBoard Theme – Tutorial

iNav inav14 I’m sure many of you have heard about the iNav theme…if not, WHAT! JK, it’s totally ok if you haven’t heard about it especially because I’m going to tell you about it right now! iNav is a theme pretty much like no other theme out there. Since it’s release, there have been many themes based off of it but, it was definitly one of a kind! It does take a few minutes (ok, like 20 minutes) and a little work (no SSHing though!) to set up this theme so, I’m going to walk you through it. i’Elegance – WinterBoard Theme

i'Elegance ielegancetheme2 OK, as many of you know, I’m not a huge fan of themes what have the date and time on the SpringBoard…only because then I have to move a bunch of blank icons around in order for it to work correctly! But, I am willing to make an exception for i’Elegance! Not only is this theme simple and clean…it basically mods every part of your iPhone and/or iPod Touch. The weather, sms, calculator, keyboard, badges, icons, wallpaper, lock screen, status bar, slider bars, safari, mail….basically everything is modded and themed. This is where another bias of mine comes in, usually themes that mod a majority of your iPhone are thrown together and terribly designed…’Elegance is not one of those themes. The design is quality and it is consistent through all of the mods. I love how each loading screen is customized for each specific app! I also love how it says, “No Calls for You!” on my status bar (our test iPhone is fake activated). It made me laugh! :) [Read more…]

Glass Two – WinterBoard Theme

WinterBoardglasstwotheme2 Glass Two is a clean theme that contains 142 icons, dock, status bar and wallpaper. The theme also contains a template so that you can create your own icons (I love when they do that!!). The only issue I have with this theme is that the dock that that theme comes with has reflections of icons however, the reflections are (from left to right); Phone, Safari, iPod and Settings. I personally like to have different icons in my dock but, then it doesn’t reflect correctly. It isn’t a huge deal since you can easily change this using other docks in WinterBoard. BlackDarkness – WinterBoard Theme

BlackDarkness blackdarkness2 BlackDarkness is a dark theme that includes a ton of mods such as; weather theme, chat bubbles, iPod UI, keyboard, dialer, sliders, badges, dock, statusbar, 260 icons, calculator…etc. Usually I’m not a big fan of themes that change a lot of the UI but, that is only because they usually are not very good. However, I was impressed with the mods in the BlackDarkness theme…they are well designed and fit the theme nicely. If you like themes that mod pretty much everything on your iPhone or iPod Touch…then you might want to check this one out. It is available via the modmyi source.

How to Install

1. Your device must be jailbroken. (how?)
2. Make sure you have WinterBoard installed via Cydia.
2. Make sure you have the modmyi source installed in Cydia.
3. Search for BlackDarkness in Cydia, run the install.
4. Open WinterBoard and activate the BlackDarkness theme.

Flash- WinterBoard Theme

WinterBoard flashtheme3 Flash is an interesting theme that is available via the iSpazio source. The stock theme comes with a wallpaper and 42 icons, 19 of which are extra icons that can be labeled (via SSH) as any application you would like. The 19 extra icons actually come in handy since both the Stocks and iTunes icons do not have an icon when the theme is installed stock.

Honestly, it took a little bit of work to get this theme to a state in which I thought it looked good. When you install it, there is no icon for Stocks or iTunes. However, because there are 19 extra icons, you can SSH in and pick any of those 19 and easily rename them to Stocks and iTunes. Also, the theme doesn’t comes with a dock so, I turned on the Transparent Dock and the ReflectiveDock in WinterBoard. This made the theme look better. I did go one step further and changed the wallpaper to just a plain black wallpaper so that there wasn’t so much going on in the theme.
