Meu is a WinterBoard theme that contains around 40 icons (some of which are alternate icons), wallpaper, dock, statusbar, badges and a lock screen battery. The stock theme does not contain a Calendar, Stocks or App Store icon. However, I made a few icons really quick that you can manually add to the theme (see below). The theme does contain a .psd icon template allowing you to create your own icons. You can get Meu via the iSpazio source.

This is really sweet. It’s a Winterboard theme that looks like Mac OS X. Check out the video below. It’s not available yet but we’ll keep you up to date on when it’s released.
Ok, I saw this theme/mod a while back on deviantart.com and wanted to write an article about it but at the time it was a pretty drawn out process (and still is). Well, here’s a video to see what it looks like. The guy kinda explains it like the software is actually running on the iPhone, but it’s not. It’s just a theme made to look like the HTC. Ip_Vez is a colorful WinterBoard theme that contains 20 square icons, a dock and a wallpaper. It isn’t packaged for the 3.0 firmware so, you will need to ssh in to the Library/Themes/Ip_Vez/Icons folder and change Text.png to Messages.png. Also, the iPod icon is named incorrectly so, you will also need to ssh in and change Music.png to iPod.png. Other than that, a decent theme… it makes me feel cheerful and summery. [Read more…]

Apple Element is a very colorful WinterBoard Theme…it reminds me of summer! The theme contains a wallpaper, lock screen background, 409 icons, Calculator mod, badges, sliders and a few other random mods. The One Ring is a Lord of the Rings inspired theme. The theme contains a wallpaper, lock screen background, status bar, badges, sliders, lock screen battery, 79 icons, loading screen, calculator mod, dialer mod and basically an entire UI mod. Usually I do not write about themes that are based off thins like Lord of the Rings or Mickey Mouse or whatever but, this one is very complete. The only issue is that it is packaged for firmware 2.x so that Message app doesn’t have an icon. That can be easily fixed by sshing into the Library/Themes/The One Ring/Icons folder and changes Texts.png to Messages.png. You can get The One Ring Theme via the BigBoss source. [Read more…]

Alit is a WinterBoard theme that contains a wallpaper, status bar, dock, lock screen background, slider, 65 icons and badge. The theme’s folder also contains an icon template, a .psd file (you can get the file by sshing in and it is located in the Library/Themes/Alit.theme folder). The unique thing about this theme is that it themes all icons (except web clips and some random Cydia apps). If the theme doesn’t have a specific icon made for an app, it just themes the app’s original icon (see screenshots below). It even themes the icons in the App Store. If you open the App Store app on your iPhone or iPod Touch, while Alit is enabled, you will notice that even the app thumbnails are themed! It is nice to have themes like this. That way, all the icons are themed instead of half of them. It helps that it is a cool theme too…I really like the dock. [Read more…]

Vibration Battery is a lock screen battery mod…the battery that is displayed with your device is plugged into a computer. Boxxy cons Theme is a unique theme made up of small icons. The theme contains a dock, wallpaper and 29 icons. Unfortunately, the theme is not packaged for the 3.0 firmware which means if you are on 3.0, you will need to ssh in and change Text.png to Messages.png. The iTunes icon is also packages incorrectly and is spelled iTunea.png and need to be changes to iTunes.png. You can find the icons in the Library/Theme/Boxxycons.theme/Icons folder. [Read more…]

Advanced Lock is a lock screen mod. It looks like a log in screen in which you have to “scan” your finger to enter. You actually have to swipe your finger for it to work…you cannot just hold your finger on the spot. When you swipe your finger, a blue finger print will show up. There is an update to SpringBoard Clock, a mod that adds the current time and date to your SpringBoard, to version 1.1. The update is said to change the app so that the user can use their own wallpaper and includes some bug fixes. I gave the update a shot and I’m still not having much luck. The wallpaper of the mod has been changed to a blank wallpaper but, I still cannot use it with another theme’s wallpaper (by moving the theme above the SpringBoard Clock mod in WinterBoard) or use my own wallpaper with the mod (by moving User Wallpaper above the SpringBaord Clock mod in WinterBoard). iGlass Sol Remix is a remix of the original theme. It uses some of the icons from the original theme and then adds a few new ones. The theme contains a wallpaper, dock, 277 icons and a handful of other UI mods. The theme is packaged for firmware 2.x and below so, you will have to ssh in (Library/Themes/MyGlassSol/Icons) and change Text to say Messages…if you are on 3.0 firmware.. Simplicity is an icon set that contains 27 of the basic icons. The theme does not contain anything but icons so, you are able to customize the rest of it yourself. There are two downfalls with this theme; it does not contain an icon for the Stocks app and it is designed for the 3.0 firmware. So, if you are on 2.x or below, the Text icon will also not display. If you are comfortable with ssh, you can ssh into the Library/Themes/Simplicity.theme/Icon folder and change Messages to Text…then it will display correctly. I know some of you are bummed that you can’t jailbreak your iPhone 3GS. Well, if you are craving a new theme, you’re in luck…Apple gave you an option. You can invert your iPhone so that it is white on black instead of black on white. Apple says it is for people who have difficulty seeing black on white or to make it easier to see at night. I say, they are secretly coming over to the dark side! If you would like to change your iPhone’s theme so that it is White on Black just head over to your stock Settings application, the General Option, the Accessibility option and you will see a White on Black feature….just turn that guy On.
