This is a killer deal. The only reason I can think as to why they are doing this is that they don’t sell 1st Gen iPads anymore so they just need to get rid of these cases. There are 14 different choices including the OtterBox Defender case for only $3.75 each with Free Priority Shipping (2-day). To get the awesome deal you must click the link provide on this Deals Plus page to get the additional 25%. Each case is $5.00 but with the discount they are $3.75. This case looks pretty impressive and surprisingly thin. I saw the case on commandN – Episode #237. They have some pretty convincing videos on the manufacturer’s website of how the case works and I’ve posted them below. They are drop proof to military specs of 2 meters or 6.6 feet, waterproof to 2 meters and snow & sand proof. We’ll try to get one for review once they are out. Right now they are on pre-order only for $69.95. They also make a case for the iPhone 3G/3GS and the iPad. This would make a great case if you have kids! [Read more...]
Today, Apple announced two new iPad 2 accessories. The first is the Apple Digital AV Adapter. This cable allows iPad 2 the ability to display HDMI out.
“Put your slides, movies, photos, and everything else that fills your iPad 2 screen on an even bigger screen — your HDTV. The Apple Digital AV Adapter mirrors exactly what you see on iPad 2 so that everyone in the room can enjoy it on your widescreen TV, video projection screen, or other HDMI-compatible display… Use the Apple Digital AV Adapter to mirror whatever’s on your iPad 2 screen — apps, presentations, websites, and more — on your HDTV or HDMI-compatible display in up to 1080p HD (movies play at up to 720p).”
iCarbon skins are one of the best carbon fiber effect skins for iDevices around today! The skins come in white or black, with a carbon fiber look and feel. The skins are available for a variety of Apple devices and other devices too.
I was lucky enough to receive an iPad skin and a iPod Touch skin from iCarbons to review and I’ve got to say, I am very impressed! The skins are extremely easy to install and look amazing. They add minimal bulk to your device and are also scratch proof!
To install the skins all you need to do is peel the skin off of the backing sheet, align it with your device and then stick and push any bubbles out. I did have a little mishap when applying to my iPod Touch in which a corner wouldn’t stick down, but using a hair dryer on a low heat setting, I was able to heat the skin slightly and it then stick down with no problems.
If you’re looking for a professional, solid way to hang your iPad on the wall, Wallee is a great solution. The list could go on and on for reasons you’d hang your iPad on the wall but this accessory is definitely going to get the job done. It comes with a hard, durable case that locks into a wall mounted “X” that could be installed almost anywhere. The case comes in 5 different colors and the wall mount in 2. You can also buy extra wall mounts for different mounting locations. Wallee’s price is comparable to many iPad cases, $49 for a kit and $10 for additional wall mounts. [Read more...]

To deal with the antenna program, Apple announced they would give away free bumpers. They also stated they could not keep up with the demand and would also offer other cases for free. If you already have a bumper and paid with a credit card you will get an automatic refund. If you paid cash you can take your receipt to the store and get your money back. If you purchased from AT&T you can fill out a refund request. If you haven’t done anything yet you can install an app from the App Store to pick your case. More details at apple.com/iphone/case-program
The app is called iPhone 4 Case Program. There is a direct link above or you can just search “iPhone case” in the app store. Once installed just follow the steps to your new case:
If you are experiencing reception issues with your iPhone 4, you are eligible to receive an iPhone 4 Bumper or other select third-party case from Apple at no charge. Download this free app onto your iPhone 4 and apply for your free Bumper or case.
Only iPhone 4 owners are eligible for this program. The app will check the IMEI and serial number to verify that you have an iPhone 4. Once eligibility is confirmed, you will be able to choose an iPhone 4 Bumper or other case. The Bumper or case will be shipped to you at no charge
All iPhone 4 purchases must be made by September 30, 2010, to qualify for this program. For iPhone 4 purchases made before July 23, 2010, you must apply no later than August 22, 2010; otherwise, you must apply within 30 days of your iPhone 4 purchase.
Here are the choice of bumpers that are available the the release of the app:
I got an official iPad case from Apple for Father’s Day yesterday. Unfortunately, it won’t be here for 2-4 weeks because they are back ordered. I’ve heard mixed reviews on the case but I thought I would try it out for myself or I would never know how it works for me. I’ve also been looking around at other cases. I like a lot of things about the case from Apple from what I’ve seen, but I would like a case that doesn’t have a flap that I have to open every time I want to use my iPad. On the other hand, I want to protect it, both front and back, from nicks and scratches. Right now I use no case and carry my iPad in this messenger bag from Aéropostale: [Read more...]
Mophie has announced yet another iPhone case that is more than just a case. This case has a credit card magnetic strip reader at the bottom. It works with their app in the app store to read credit cards. The case is made of a nice grippy rubber and can be charged and synced through the micro USB port. Again, this case has no release date and no price listed on their website. This app would be great for vendors at flee markets, farmers markets and events. Unlike their FLO TV case and other battery cases, this case does not have an extra battery.
This isn’t about music this time (iBand), it’s an accessory that protects your iPhone. We’ll see what we can do about getting one for testing. Of course if you drop it directly on the screen, it’s still gonna break. Brooke’s wishing she had it when she dropped her iPhone :(
You can even buy it online at Apple.com.

As many of you know, Doug and I both are fans of OtterBox iPhone cases. In the past we have done a reviews of both the Defender and Armor Series Cases. Until just recently, the cases were not available for the iPhone 3G. However, you are now able to get the Defender Series case for the iPhone 3G. It is currently only available in black but will soon be available in White, Pink and Yellow/Black. Not only that, it seems they have improved the case from the first version. Below is a snippet from the press release; [Read more...]
This is a sweet hack if I’ve ever seen one! I would love to have this on my 3G! So far this info is only for the 1st Gen iPhone. Below is a video of the end result (warning, not in English). It makes your Apple logo glow! I checked a little deeper and found out they are a company in Russia and it’s actually running separate from the light from the screen (battery drain?). They also provide custom designed backs, memory upgrades, and laser engraving. Now only if this was maybe a flash for the camera, flashlight, changed color, interacted with apps… Tell us what your ideas are!
Doug and I had been discussing a few days ago how quickly the iPhone 3G’s battery goes dead…I will say, with confidence, that the first gen iPhone’s battery life is much better than the iPhone 3G’s battery life!! Well, the next day, Doug sent me a link to a solar powered iPhone 3G case! It seems that the guys over at Mobile Fun feel our pain and have developed a case that can recharge your iPhone 3G using direct sunlight. According to Solar Feeds, it will take around 3 hours to charge the battery on your iPhone 3G to a level in which your iPhone can function. It would take around 10 hours to fully charge your iPhone 3G. It also comes with a mini USB option in case you do not have any direct sunlight. Overall, [Read more...]
Aquapac has a 100% waterproof case for the iPhone. It is made of premium polyurethane and “is sensitive enough to allow full use of the iPhone’s dynamic fingertip touchscreen, as well as normal speak/hear clarity.” You are also able to make a phone call and use the camera through the case. It is good for keeping dirt and sand off your iPhone and is submersible up to 15 feet. If it still makes you a little nervous, it does come with a 3-year global warranty! The Aquapac for iPhone case is available for $25.00.
I personally am a big fan of OtterBox Cases and to me, the Aquapac for iPhone case is more like a water-proof pouch then a case but, if you are looking for a easy way to keep your iPhone safe from water, dirt or sand…this might be the way to go! I could also see the armband version of the case being very useful!
Aquapac 100% waterproof cases are sealed with the legendary Aquaclip™, a shatter-resistant premium polycarbonate seal with a pair of easy-to-slide levers. The Aquaclip makes direct access to your iPhone as simple as the flip of a switch.
Aquapac makes three iPhone-ready cases, including the action-sport ready Small Armband Case with an elastic and Velcro strap ($35); the Mini Phone/GPS Case ($25); and the Small PDA Case ($25).
