Yesterday, the Dev-Team updated redsn0w. The update allows the ability to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 as well as install custom bundles. However, it is not compatible with the new version of Cydia and is still a tethered jailbreak for some devices.

The Dev-Team has updated the redsn0w jailbreak (version 0.9.6b2) to incorporate geohot’s limera1n exploit. The jailbreak is available for both Windows and Mac. Below is info on what devices the jailbreak works on and the new features of redsn0w 0.9.6b2.

With the release of ultrsn0w 0.8, a software unlock, the Dev-Team has also updated redsn0w, Dev-Team’s jailbreak, to version 0.8. The updated version of redsn0w will jailbreak the iPhone 3GS, hactivated devices and includes a Linux version of the jailbreak.

The Dev Team, specifically MuscleNerd, has released a video via qik.com of a jailbroken iPod Touch 2G (2nd Generation). Unfortunatly the jailbreak only works when tethered (connected via USB) to a computer. They are working on a fix for this
