BigBoss Source Update – Removes bigbossbetarepo

The BigBoss source was recently updated to version 0-10. The update removes the bigbossbetarepo source. So, if you have the bigbossbetarepo source installed and you update the BigBoss source, the bigbossbetarepo source will be automatically uninstalled (and removed). iPhone 3.1 beta 3 – New Features

Apple has released firmware 3.1 beta 3 to developers. The firmware has been found to have a few cool new features (see list below).

Note: If you are a developer, you will need to update to 3.1 beta 3 before July 29th because 3.1 beta 2 expires at midnight on the 28th.

    • Copy and paste videos – You can now copy and paste videos in your e-mails. There is a 15 MB limit for copying/pasting videos or images. This limit is most likely there to save bandwidth usage (see demo video below).
    • Tethering counter – If you go to Settings -> Genral -> Usage on your iPhone, you’ll notice Tethering data which shows how much tethering you’ve used. Note: Tethering is not available to AT&T users yet.
    • Springboard icons – When you hold down the Springboard icons they no longer vibrate.
    • Baseband updated – The baseband has been updated to 05.11.04.
    • Camera API additions

BigBoss Released Beta Repo, bigbossbetarepo

BigBoss recently released a new source in Cydia, bigbossbetarepo. The source will contain beta/alpha/test applications. This is not a repo that everyone will want to install. If you install the source, you need to be willing to test applications and give feedback about there performance. Because the apps released in this repository are test and beta, they do have the possibility of crashing your iPhone or iPod Touch (thus, requiring a restore). Read more

Installer 4.0 Beta

1. Available via download here and here.

2. Extract zip file.

3. SSH the Installer.app folder into your /Applications folder.

4. Run this command via terminal: chmod -R 777 /Applications/Installer.app

5. Also Run this command via terminal: chmod a+srx /Applications/Installer.app/Installer

6. Turn off your iPhone or iPod Touch and turn it back on.
