The update to version 1.0b of RepoName, a sources searching application, adds it to the BigBoss source and makes a few visual changes to the application. BossPrefs Dock Control 1.0

BossPrefs Dock Control is an add-on to the BossPrefs application (you will need to have a BossPrefs installed before installing BossPrefs Dock Control). The BossPrefs Dock Control allows you to toggle on/off an application called Dock. However, before you can use BossPrefs to toggle Dock, you will need to have Dock installed. Because Dock is an application that is always present, I think it is nice to have the ability to toggle it off. You can get the BossPrefs Dock Control and BossPrefs through the BigBoss source.

Vista Perfection Keyboard 1.0

Vista Perfection Keyboard is a keyboard replacement application. When installed, it will replace your stock keyboard. I did notice that when you are in the number/symbol view on the keyboard and then hit the Shift key to get more symbols, the more symbols keyboard does not show up correctly. And when in Safari, it shows half of the symbols (from the first symbols keyboard) on the first symbols keyboard and then the other half on the second symbols keyboard. Penguin Panic 3.0

The update to Penguin Panic 3.0 does make a few changes to the application. The info tab, on the lower menu bar on the intro screen, has some new information. Instead of having Blue, Red, Yellow and Green snow flakes…there are now Blue, Purple and Black snowflakes. Blue is +500 points and makes your Penguin move faster, Purple is -500 points and makes your Penguin slower and the Black flakes will end the game. The Settings option has been implemented in the update. You are now able to choose between Easy, Medium and Hard skill levels and turn on/off the Deadly Flake option. The update to version 3.0 of Tetris makes a few changes to the application. When you open the app, you will notice that the lower menu bar no longer contains the options; Main Menu, Credits, Info and Settings. Instead the lower menu bar now has the options; Donate and Start. This is ok because the credits have been moved to the intro screen and the Setting menu had not been implemented yet. So, the only thing you are losing is the more Info option. CookBook 2.0 is actually the application BettyCrocker and/or Bettys CookBook…just with a new name. The application has been taken over by a new developer and has been moved to the BigBoss source. With the change, the application has received a new icon and a few new graphics. The opening menu has also changed and the new options include; Donate Please, Contact and Leave Application (which means Exit the application). The update to Sculptor, a simple drawing application, 1.0.1 gives the application a new icon. I was hoping to see some additional features or maybe some improvement in the functionality of the application. However, the only change seems to be a new icon. The update to Community Sources 3.85 changes the source url for the BigBoss source. There are some hosting issues. So, if you are have problems downloading apps from the BigBoss source, make sure you update to version 3.85 of Community Sources.
Update: The update to version 3.85 solves a DNS issue that BigBoss was having. Apparently his DNS company decided to block his domain name – making is his email, website and repository go down. So, the update to Community Source make some changes so that BigBoss’s stuff will work again. If you would like to contact BigBoss, his new email address is bigboss@bigboss.us.com. Also, if you update your Community Source and the BigBoss repo shows up under Untitled Source, keep refreshing your sources until it shows up under Community Sources again.

The update to version 2.1 of SpoofAPP (an iPhone Caller ID Spoofing, Voice Changing, and Call Recording App) adds a new feature that allows you to download the conversations you have recorded, to your computer. Once you have recorded a conversation using SpoofAPP, you can go into the Recents option and select the recording. HandicApp – Removed from Community Sources

BigBoss has written an article warning of the dangers of using HanidcApp. Due to these dangers, iSpazio has removed the application from Community Source. Below the warning via BigBoss:

Here are the dangers of this app. First off, all packages have permissions pre-set by the packager prior to going into Installer or Cydia. So this app is totally unneeded. Worse, it changes these permissions and you can never get them back without using SSH and having the knowledge to do so. Secondly, iPhone follows Unix file permission standards. This means all normal files must be 644 permissions. Only binary executable files should be 755 and in some special cases 4755 with owner set as root. This app stomps all over these proper permissions and just recursively sets every file to 755 in the entire folder! [Read more…]
