SpringDial 0.9996

SpringDial The update to version 0.9996 of SpringDial finally makes it compatible with my iPhone!! I was soooo sad when version 0.9994 did not work!! This is one of my Top Ten Apps! The only visual change to the app is in the News Section. There is a poll in which you can pick one of three icons that you think should be SpringDial’s new icon. I also noticed that when you create a speed-dial for a contact that does not have a photo assigned to them, it now puts the stock Phone icon for that speed-dial. In previous versions is used the SpringDial app icon for a contact with no photo. I’m honestly not sure [Read more…]

Periodic Table 1.0

Periodic Table Periodic Table is exactly what you would expect it to be…a Periodic Table. The app will open to the main screen which lists all of the elements on the Periodic Table in Alphabetical order. What is cool is that you can change the list to Symbols and search based on the Element’s symbol (in Alphabetical order)! If you tap on an Element that is in the list…you will get a ton of info about that Element such as it’s Symbol, Atomic Number, Atomic Weight and a ton of other information (see screenshots below). On the lower menu bar [Read more…]

MPG 1.0.3

MPG Version 1.0.3 of MPG, adds a few new features. Though, I must be honest, I hadn’t truely used this app to it’s full capacity until this week-end. We are traveling and decided to use MPG to keep track of our gas miliage. It works surprisingly well. Everytime we get gas, we just get a recipe, enter a few quick numbers into the app and voilà…it calculates our miles per gallon! We are currently getting 29.20 mpg! Not too bad! Though, we did pay 3.479 dollars per gallon, which is the highest we have ever paid! Anyway! On to the updates! [Read more…]

StreetFlow 0.8

StreetFlow I already know this is going to be one of my favorite apps and I have only been using it for a little while! StreetFlow is an app that locates dinning establishments based on your location. It also includes a rating of the restaurant and comments from others who have been to the restaurant. When you open the app, it will take a few seconds to find your location. It will then display a list of restaurants starting with the one closest to you. From the list, you can tap on a restaurant to get more information like; the name of the restaurant, the address of the restaurant, it’s rating (based on a five star rating system), a list of comments and the ability to add a comment. If you would like to add a comment, [Read more…]

SpringDial 0.9994

SpringDialSince the last time I did a review of SpringDial there have been a few options added. Once the app is open…there are two new options on the lower menu bar; Donate and News. The app actually opens to the News page. It just gives you info about SpringDial and Disclaimer. Other than that, there are no changes in the functionality of the app. However, I can’t seem to get this version to work. Every time I create a SpeedDial, it says that it has been created but when I close the app it makes my iPhone act all crazy (flashing white screen…not good!). Once I finally get it back the the SpringBoard, [Read more…]

MPG 1.0.2

MPG There a few changes in version 1.0.2 of MPG. There are two new icons available to choose from – an RV and a SmartCar. Metric (km/L) has been added as an option in the Units section. I also noticed that it is available in a few languages…I know Spanish and Portuguese were added with the previous version however, the app is also available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian and Swedish. That is quite a few languages! MPG is available through the Ste Packaging source.

Sketches 0.7

Sketches When I saw an update to Sketches, I was a little confused. I thought maybe it was just someone adding it to another source. But, after some research, it is indeed an update! Making it version 0.7 of Sketches. And let me tell you…the update is sweet! However, this is coming from a Twitter addict. Yes…it’s true…you can now Twitter the masterpieces you create in Sketches. Just tap the Send icon and where you would normally see the options Export to Photo Album and Mail Picture, you will now see Twitter as well. When you select Twitter, [Read more…]

ShopList 0.32

ShopList ShopList is a simple little app that allows you to create shopping lists. It opens to a blank main screen…to add a list just tap Add in the upper right corner. Once you have entered the List Name just tap Save in the upper left corner. Now, you will see your list on the main screen. To add items to your list, tap on it and then tap add in the upper right corner. The Item is the item you need, such as bread, the Desc adds a little subnote below the item, such as wheat. (see screenshots). Once you have your Item entered [Read more…]

SpringDial 0.998b

springdial This app is really sweet! SpringDial allows you to add a photo speed dial to your SpringBoard. When you open the app you will get a list of all your contacts. If you have more than one number for a contact it will list each number separately for that contact…just tap on the contact (and their number) you would like to add to your SpringBoard. You will get a little pop-up giving you a warning about the 80 app limit (read it carefully) and then you will get a pop-up where you can enter what you would like the contact titled as on your SpringBoard and one more pop-up asking if it is ok to create the speed dial. After you have entered all the information and have tapped OK… [Read more…]

smartRSS 1.0

smartRSSAnother great app this week! smartRSS is an RSS reader and is far better than MobileRSS both aesthetically and functionally. You can get this app from Jeremie Engel’s source and find it under the category “smartRSS, iGuideTV…” (he really needs to name his source differently). Open up the app and you can find the ‘Apple Hot News’ feed already added, tap it to open it to an article list, tap the article to read it. To add more feeds [Read more…]

MPG 1.0.1

MPG Version 1.0.1 of MPG brings with it a new icon! Which I must say I do like better! Another cool part of this version is that is adds two additional translations…making it now available in both Spanish and Portuguese (which is cool since Doug is in Brazil at the moment and surrounded by Portuguese speaking people!). There was also an important bug fix that changes it so [Read more…]

MPG 1.0

MPG MPG is an extensive app that allows you to keep track of a variety of expenses for your vehicles. Everything from fuel economy to services done to trip information….and it can keep track of all of this on more than one vehicle. The app opens to a blank menu screen where your Vehicles will be listed. To add a vehicle tap the plus button in the lower left corner. This will bring up a ton of info you can add about the vehicle including; the Title for that vehicle, the icon you want for the vehicle, the units of measurement you use (miles-gal), odometer, VIN number, License Plate number, Engine Size, Tire Size, Notes and Delete Vehicle. Once you have all the information entered… [Read more…]

PhotoDial 1.02

PhotoDial The only change with version 1.02 of PhotoDial is the addition of a CoverFlow mode in the Preferences. If you turn on CoverFlow mode, you can scroll through your contacts Cover Flow style (you can still just tap on the photo to call that Contact). The first time I used the Cover Flow option is was really glitchy but, the second time I tried it…it was fine! Doug wouldn’t let me try this version on his 1.1.3 because it messed up his iPhone soo bad last time (he is finally breaking down and restoring it right now! :( ). So, [Read more…]

Sketches 0.6

Sketches The 0.6 update for Sketches brings fun updates. You can now choose from 24 different colors instead of 6. There are also updates to the toolbar icons and other minor visual changes. Sketches 0.6 works with 1.1.4 now and can adapt to different firmwares during installation from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4. [Read more…]

PhotoDial 1.01

PhotoDial Version 1.01 of PhotoDial fixed a bug that used to make the app crash if you opened it and you didn’t have any photos assigned to your Contacts. However, the update DOES NOT fix the issue that makes it incompatible with version 1.1.3. When I tested this version(1.01) on a 1.1.3 iPhone…it still crashed…and if your 1.1.3 acts anything like the one I tested it on it will SERIOUSLY mess up your iPhone…including all the things mentioned in my previous post about this app and a few more like [Read more…]
