Below are six themes and two mods that have recently been released in Cydia. The six themes include; Patches (via modmyi), iAdobi (via modmyi), Burnt Paper (via modmyi), oGn (via BigBoss), Apple 2009 (via iSpazio) and Apple 2009 Red Edition. The two mods include; Ice Keys (via modmyi) which is a mod that will change the design of the keys on the keyboard when you select them and Smaller Wide Sliders (via modmyi) which your stock slider bars wider. I recently wrote a post about MacCiti, a new source, which is available for install via Cydia. MacCiti is a theme source which means it contains mostly themes, ringtones and wallpapers. So, I thought I would take a look at what they have to offer.
Honestly, it took WAY longer than I thought to install all the themes, get screenshots of each theme and organize them into a post. So, I apologize for not having this post out sooner. The screenshots are exactly what each theme looks like. I did not do any modding to individual themes which means, I did not turn on the transparent dock or turn off icon labels or check icon files to see if they were spelled wrong if they didn’t show up correctly in the theme. So basically, I didn’t do anything to make the theme look it’s absolute best (which I must add, drove me crazy!!). But, you will see what each theme looks like and it’s potential! WinterBoard Mods – Dialer, Keyboard and Progress Bar Mods

Well, after a six long days of traveling and family get togethers for Christmas, I’m working my way through the Cydia apps that were released in the last few days. Below are a few notable WinterBoard mods. The first mod is a dialer mod which changes your phone keypad. Apple X Dialer, via BigBoss, does exactly what it sounds like….gives your dialer an Apple X theme. The second mod is a keyboard mod. Carbon Fiber Keyboard, via BigBoss, is a mod that will give your keyboard a carbon fiber look. Both of these mods installed and worked correctly for me. The third mod is my favorite…a Safari Progress Bar mod via BigBoss. This mod changes the loading bar in Safari when loading a web page. It comes in a few different colors including; Dark Blue, Aqua, Red, Orange, Lime, Green and Pink. All of these mods are activated via WinterBoard. SEe screenshots below. [Read more…]

Below are a few cool WinterBoard mods. The first two mods are themes. Red Art (via iSpazio) is a cool theme but, it only contains about 19 icons which do not include App Store, iTunes or Cydia. But, if you are ok with only modding a few icons…then you might like Red Art. Electric Blue (via modmyi) a theme that is basically made up of clear icons and a wallpaper. What I like about the theme is that the icons are unique…I have not seen transparent icons like the ones in this theme before. I did find that the theme looks the best with the Transparent Dock, No Undocked Icon Lables and No Docked Icon Labels options turned on in WinterBoard. [Read more…]

Below are a few WinterBoard mods. The first is a theme, iBLOB (via iSpazio), is a very clean theme. It basically mods the wallpaper, dock and icons…it contains 70 icons. The second theme, Elegance (via ModMyi), is very similar to the A8stract Theme. I actually prefer some of the icons from the A8stract Theme a little better. Also, if you like the Elegance theme, you are going to have to do a little work. Most of the stock icons are in Italian and need to be renamed to English in order to work. There are a couple of cool mods in Cydia that I thought I would mention. One is a dialer mod that is actually similar to very popular dialer mod for firmware 1.1.4 and below. Retro Phone Dialer (via modmyi) will change your dialer keypad to look like an old school pay phone dialer…it’s pretty cool! The other mod is a Cydia theme. enBuufydia (via modmyi) is a mod that will change Cydia to match the Buuf theme. I know quite a few of you use the Buuf theme so, here is just one more thing you can mod to match your theme! Both mods can be activated and deactivated via WinterBoard with no issues. We are getting closer to Christmas (16 more days) and to get into the Holiday spirit, we are seeing more Christmas themes in Cydia! Today, there were a few worth mentioning. These are actually not new themes, they were available last Christmas, but they have been updated and added to Cydia for this Christmas! The three Christmas themes are; XMAS, Simple Christmas and Christmas in Green (all via iSpazio). There are a few other mods available is Cydia as well; TABLET a themes via BigBoss and Blue Stars Dot a SpringBoard dot mod via iSpazio. The only issue is that in the TABLET theme the Calculator icon is spelled incorrectly in the package therefore it doesn’t change the icon for the theme. But, if you are comfortable with SSH you can easily go into Library/Themes/TABLET.theme/Icons folder and change the Calcolator.png to say Calculator.png. All the screenshots are below. [Read more…]
Smiley Dot Mod

You do not see a lot of these kind of mods. What this mod does is change the dots on your SpringBoard (this ones that represent your pages). It changes them from dots to a smiley faces. The current page you are on will be a smiley (:)) while the other pages display as a (:|) serious face. There are four colors to choose from as of now; Pink, Blue, Orange and Green. The name of the mods are Pink Smiley Page Dots, Green Smiley Page Dots..etc (via BigBoss). You will need to activate this mod through WinterBoard. Screenshots below. [Read more…]

There are quite a few new mods in Cydia today. There were three very cool unique new themes; AMANA08 (via BigBoss), Umicon (via BigBoss) and L’Amour (via BigBoss). All three of these themes do quite a bit of modding…battery, badges, UI images, keyboards, sliders, chat bubbles…etc. There were two new SMS themes; Christmas SMS (via BigBoss) and Simple Text (via Steffwiz’s Source). WinterBoard Theme – Flashing Christmas Lights

Flashing Christmas Lights is an interesting theme. It adds a string of Christmas lights around your icons. It does not mod your icons so, you are basically supposed to use it in conjunction with another theme. The string of lights will randomly flash in different patterns. In order for the theme to look exactly right, you will want to enable the Transparent Dock via WinterBoard. The theme seems to work very nicely, I did not have any issues with glitching. Though, I would image that it might drain your battery a little faster than normal.

There are a couple new theme options available in Cydia. One really interesting new theme is called Styld (via iSpazio). It is actually a very unique theme and does a fair amount of modding. The only catch is that in order for the theme to look aesthetically pleasing, you may need to rearrange your icons. Which usually makes me confused because I have mine memorized so, I go to hit Photos and I end up in Mail or something like that. But, if you don’t mind rearranging…it is a pretty cool theme. If you are looking for a color scheme theme, you might want to check out My Orange Theme (via iSpazio). Screenshots below!

WinterBoard Mods

Below are a few WinterBoard mods that are available in Cydia. The theme, Tinker Bell (via BigBoss), changes just the basic icons and also adds a wallpaper to the Tinker Bell wallpaper to the lock screen. There is also a nice SMS mod called Winter Night SMS (via BigBoss). If you are starting to winter/Holiday itch…you might want to check out this SMS theme. Speaking of holidays…the last mod is Christmas Ringtones (via BigBoss). If you install Christmas Ringtones it will add three ringtones (Holly Jolly Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch) in with your stock ringtones. This is a very easy way to add ringtones to your iPhone! Holly Jolly Christmas and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer are the traditional renditions of the song and have great audio quality. You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch does not work (at least I can’t get it to).
