There have been a few updates to BossPrefs since the last time I did a review of the application. Most of the updates have been bug fixes or behind the scenes changes. However, version 2.12b of BossPrefs does add a new option. In the More section, you now have the option to Disable Apple App Killswitch. The Apple App Killswitch is referring to the ability in which Apple has to actually take an app right off your iPhone…like yours personally! Crazy! Well, BossPrefs [Read more…]
Best Buy to Sell iPhones
Best Buy will begin to carry stock of the iPhone 3G starting September 7th. They will sell for the same price of $199 and $299. It seems Best Buy has been working on this since the launch of the 1st Gen iPhone. That’s why we’ve seen rumors over the past year of Best Buy and Radio Shack getting the iPhone. Here’s what Best Buy Mobile’s CEO had to say: “We had a lot of work to do, obviously, to get in a position where Apple and AT&T would feel good about Best Buy Mobile carrying it, and that’s what we’ve done in the last 18 months.” I think this will help bring the iPhone more people, especially where there are Best Buys and not Apple or AT&T stores.
New iPhone 3G Commercials from Apple
Below are three new commercials that Apple has released for the iPhone 3G. I will say that I’m not overly impressed this time around. They are ok. I’m totally bummed that they changed the theme song. I love the other theme song, it’s so cheerful!

2.0 Firmware Unstable
I don’t know about you guys, but I am having quite a few issues with firmware 2.
0. The App Store seems to crash one in every five times I use it (if not more), my iPhone locks up almost every time I get a text message pop-up while in a program, my iPhone randomly restarts and App Store apps constantly crash while using them. I do not seem to be the only one having these issues. Here at Apple iPhone School we have three iPhones and one iPod Touch on firmware 2.0 (the rest are still on jailbroke 1.1.4) and they are all having problems.
Let me know in the comments what your experience with the 2.
0 firmware as been like.
Print Screen of Crash List:

Firmware 2.0 Now Available in iTunes
You are now able to upgrade to firmware 2.0 by simply going into iTunes and selecting the Check for Update option. Remember, upgrading to firmware 2.0 will mean your iPhone will no longer be jailbroke, fake activated or unlocked (there is no jailbreak option for firmware 2.
0). If you do not want to upgrade to 2.
0, just select Cancel if you get a pop-up telling you to upgrade.

Still No MobileMe (or .Mac)
Well, .Mac went offline last night like they said it was going to however, we have yet to see MobileMe go online. Currently when you go to Mac.com you get a page saying This Service is Temporarily Unavailable and if you go to Me.com it forwards you to Apple’s website. I’m guessing the delay is intentional. It could be that they are waiting for the release of firmware 2.
0 before they go live with MobileMe (which is rumored to be released today).
