iGlass Sol Remix is a remix of the original theme. It uses some of the icons from the original theme and then adds a few new ones. The theme contains a wallpaper, dock, 277 icons and a handful of other UI mods. The theme is packaged for firmware 2.x and below so, you will have to ssh in (Library/Themes/MyGlassSol/Icons) and change Text to say Messages…if you are on 3.0 firmware.. Simplicity is an icon set that contains 27 of the basic icons. The theme does not contain anything but icons so, you are able to customize the rest of it yourself. There are two downfalls with this theme; it does not contain an icon for the Stocks app and it is designed for the 3.0 firmware. So, if you are on 2.x or below, the Text icon will also not display. If you are comfortable with ssh, you can ssh into the Library/Themes/Simplicity.theme/Icon folder and change Messages to Text…then it will display correctly. You can get Simplicity via the modmyi source.

Metallic Glass Theme is a theme with transparent icons. Many of you know that I am always on the look-out for a new style of transparent icons (because you can change the wallpaper and feel like you have a whole new theme!). This theme contains a wallpaper, dock, sliders, 58 icons, loading screens, custom UI….etc.
I do have a few problems with this theme. The Message application doesn’t have an icon. There is an icon for SwirlyMMS so, you can always change it to your Message icon using ssh. Black Chrome is a unique WinterBoard theme. It contains a dock, wallpaper, lock background and 2,151 icons. When you activate the theme in WinterBoard, you need to activate both the theme and the icons…they are separate. I’m not a huge fan of the icon font but, you might like it. The iWildFlowers theme contains a wallpaper, dock, status bar, lock background, lock battery and 239 icons. It is a nicely designed, girly them! YAY for girly themes! :) It is compatible with firmware 3.0 and below. If you would like to use the WeatherIcon mod in conjunction with the iWildFlowers theme, you can install the Transparent Weather Icon via the modmyifone source. You will also need to install a WeatherIcon theme…I like the Katra-based Weather Icon theme via the david.ashman.com source.

Ok, iNitsua Portrait is a pretty sweet iNav inspired theme. There is also a landscape version of the theme but, I’m going to be concentrating on the portrait version. I’m not going to tell you how long it took me to set this theme up but I’m hoping my guide below will help you set it up in much, much, much less time than it took me!
The guide below looks a little long and probably a bit crazy but, it is because I walked through every step.

Black Wood is a nicely designed mostly black theme with some white and yellow accents. This is a “normal” theme (meaning not an iNav theme) so, there is no additional set-up. The theme comes with a wallpaper, dock, 269 icons, badge, slider…etc. The theme package also include a template for the icons (.psd file) which is always nice. The .psd file is located in the Library/Theme/Black Wood/Extra. I think these icons might also be small enough to be used with the FCSB mod. You can get Black Wood via the BigBoss source. IFDark No Logo is an iNav inspired theme, actually it is basically like a skin to the original iNav theme. It is definitely one of the easier iNav themes to set up. To do so, you will want to have all your application in an Apps and Games folder except the following; Phone, SMS, Email, Safari, iPod, Camera, Photo, Games and Apps.
You will want one icon on each page of your SpringBoard (in the same order they are listed in above). The icons need to be in the third row, the third icon in (see screenshots below). Once you have all nine icons arranged correctly, you can go into WinterBoard and activate the theme. [Read more…]

1*1 SpringBoard is a mod that, when installed, automatically puts one icon in the middle of each page of your SpringBoard without the use of blank icons or web clips. There are a few things you should know before installing this application.
1*1 SpringBoard is not activated via WinterBoard, it is a mobile substrate application which means there is no icon for it, it just runs in the background. Which also means, you will want to prepare your iPhone BEFORE you install this application.
If you are familiar with iNav themes, then you will understand what I am about to tell you on how to prepare your iPhone. If you need more info about how to set up your iPhone or iPod Touch for a iNav theme…please check out THIS review.

There was recently an update to WinterBoard Settings. I actually have not done a review for two updates now so, I will talk about both the 0.3.0 update and the 0.4.0 update.
The 0.3.0 update adds an “Enabled” button to WinterBoard Settings. This button actually enables/disables the any mods/themes/hacks that are installed for WinterBoard. It basically turns WinterBoard on and off. So, if you have Enabled turned off, if you make changes in either the WinterBoard application or WinterBoard Settings, they will not display.
FYI: Enabled is automatically turned off when updated/installed which totally had me confused because my WinterBoard application was not working and I thought I broke something…then I remembered the update to WinterBoard Settings. [Read more…]

I was surprised when I opened Cydia this morning and saw a WinterBoard Settings application. I was like…Shut Up! I totally thought we were going to get some sweet new settings…maybe some interface settings and what not. Well, that is not exactly what this app is.
WinterBoard Settings, via the david.ashman.com source, will add an option for WinterBoard in your stock Settings application. When selected, you have the option to turn on/off SpringBoard Only (which will apply WinterBoard themes to only your SpringBoard) and Debug (I’m not exactly sure what this setting would do). The Metal Thing is a pretty cool theme that contains 30 icons, moving wallpaper, dock, status bar, lock background, SMS background, sliders, badges, dialer, calculator…etc. This theme is unique in the fact that it has an “animated” wallpaper. In the center of the wallpaper is a blue sphere…inside the sphere you will get a nice lighting affect every once and a while. The icons also need to be in a specific order around the sphere. The rest of your icons can be placed wherever you would like them. (See screenshots below) I did notice that the animated wallpaper does making the icons a little laggy when in “move” mode however, it doesn’t seem to affect scrolling of SpringBoard pages. Round and Round is a theme that consists of transparent round icons. Unlike the popular Glass Orb theme, Round and Round adds a bit of color with a colored graphic inside of each transparent circle. Honestly, I feel like I have seen these icons before but, I can’t come up with the name of the theme so maybe they are just similar to another theme’s icons. Round and Round only contains the basic 16 icons and a Cydia icon (no iTunes and App Store icons with this one), a dock and a wallpaper. NativeUI is nice, clean WinterBoard theme. The theme does require just a little bit of set-up (nothing like an iNav theme does!). When you install NativeUI, there are a few things you need to do in WinterBoard. First, activate the NativeUI theme. You will also need to activate the No Docked Icons Labels and No Undocked Icon Labels options. Once out of WinterBoard, you will need to rearrange your icons slightly. In your top row of icons you want your Weather icon, your Calendar icon, a blank icon and your Clock icon. In the dock you will need the Phone, Email, SMS and iPod icons. You can put whatever icons you would like in your second and third row of icons. See the screenshots below. One thing I like about this theme is that it accommodate the WeatherIcon and LiveClock mods. There are not a ton of themes that do this, especially ones that are a little more unique like this one. Safety Not Guaranteed is a clear icon theme. I personally love clear icons because I can change my wallpaper and feel like I have a whole new theme! This clear icon set is actually a little different than most…it has a design to it. Most transparent icon themes tend to just be the stock icons…but see-through. The theme contains a dock, wallpaper, status bar, 128 icons and a few UI mods. I did find that I had a little bit of trouble getting the theme to work correctly with the LiveClock and WeatherIcon mods. In order for it to look correct, you can either disable both mods (using the LiveClock Disabled and No Weather Icon mods) or you can move your preferred weathericon and liveclock mods above the Safety Not Guaranteed theme in WinterBoard.
