There is an update to SBSettings today. If you remember my initial review of SBSettings, you will remember that this application is pretty much supposed to be a BossPrefs replacement app. Well, I actually use SBSettings quite often and thought that the update was worth writing about. The “coolest” part of the update is that SBSettings is now themable! It now comes with the stock theme and two additional themes (HUD and Tech Shadow). You can get to the themes through the More option. I also noticed that there were quite a few additional mods for SBSettings in Cydia (which I just might have to do a post about).

I actually tested this application yesterday but, had some issues with it crashing back to the SpringBoard so, I was happy to see an update for it this morning. MailSearch is a simple application that allows you to quickly search through your email. The nice thing about this application is that it searches through all your email accounts. When you open MailSearch, you will get the main search page where you can enter any keyword or phrase.
Once you have entered what you would like to search for, select Search. You will then get a list of relevant findings from any of the email accounts you have set up on your iPhone or iPod Touch. You can then select an email to see the full email content. However, it only gives you the basic text of the email and doesn’t work well with emails that have a lot of graphics. But, the word or phrase that you searched for will be highlighted within the email so that is nice. That is basically where the functionality stops. [Read more…]
Snow Report 1.0

The title of this application caught my attention though, I love to ski and snowboard so I might be slightly bias! :) Colorado Snow Report is an application that displays the Colorado Snow Reports. When you first open the app you will only get information for a few resorts. However, if you select View All, you will get a much larger list. You can then select the Edit button in the upper left corner and rearrange the list or delete resorts off the list.
Now, the information the application gives you on the main list is the resort name and the amount of snow they have had in the past 24 hours. If you select a resort you will get a lot more information about the resort such as a live webcam, how much snow they have had in the last 48 hours, the base depth, whether the resort is open or closed, the ability to view a detailed snow report, ability to call the resort and the ability to go to the resorts website!! So very very cool! Also, when on the main list of resorts…the resorts that are darker are the ones that are open.

Many of you may remember RemindYou, a lock screen calendar app, from firmware 1.1.4 and below. It seems the app has made it’s way to the 2.x firmware. However, this time I can actually get it to work which is nice because with firmware 1.1.4 and below we could never get this application to work for us. When you open the application, you will get a list of Settings. Here you are able to change things like; font, font size, font color, 24 hour time, dim wallpaper…etc. However, I can’t seem to get a few of the settings to work. Any setting with an arrow next to it will not launch. This includes; Font, Font Color and Registration. All of the other Settings work just fine.

iDontCrash – Fraudulent App
October 9, 2008 by
BigBoss has put out a warning on his website about a fraudulent application called iDontCrash. It seems that a developer tried to get BigBoss to host his application but due to curiosity BigBoss decided to take a good look at the app before hosting it.

Below is what he found…this is just a snippet of the article. You can view the full article HERE. .
A week ago, a developer tried to send me an app called iDontCrash to host. Being curious, and a developer myself, I asked a few questions about this app before hosting it. The answers proved to me that it is total fraud on the community. It should be called iDontWork or iAmFake. This app gave me hours of enjoyment while we were picking it apart. In short, do not trust this app or its developer Brandon Rose. It is upsetting when someone tries to harm our community, therefore, I decided to post all about this app and its pseudo developer.

The update to biteSMS now allows you to the app as your default SMS app…very cool. Another cool new feature of the update is when you have a missed/unread text and you open biteSMS, it will open directly to the conversation with the missed text. Below is the full change log and screenshots.
biteSMS 2.0-1 Change Log:
• Ability to make biteSMS the default SMS application (configured via biteSMS settings page, defaults to OFF).This controls the following characteristics:
– If ON, when clicking to Reply to an incoming SMS alert, you’ll be taken into biteSMS instead of the Apple SMS application.
– If ON, the badge that denotes how many SMS’s are unread will be shown against the biteSMS icon instead of the Apple SMS icon.
– ON or OFF, incoming SMS messages containing biteSMS credits are handled in a more user friendly fashion.
• Fixed the issue, whereby if an error was displayed during the sending of an SMS, then it would exit back to the Home screen.
