Pool

Pool is available from the iPod Touch Fans repository listed in Installer.app under Games (once you add the source). If you, like me, played games on previous cell phones, you have probably seen, and played, various pool games. Pool by iPod Touch Fans is the closest thing yet. It is a single player, stripes vs. solids game, with easy to control shots and accurate bounces. Use your finger to align the cue (very easy to do), and swipe your finger across the power slider on the right (which I find to be very well implemented).

It’s only short comings are multi-player and the graphics are a bit lacking (but not a game-stopper).

Caissa Chess 0.87

I was surprised when I saw version 0.87 in the Installer.app for Caissa. I was surprised because the app’s title had changed…it is no longer titled just Caissa but Caissa Chess. I like it! Version 0.87 also makes Caissa Chess compatible with 1.1.3!! Though, the coolest new features are the quick save and multiple save features. When you select Save in the lower menu bar…you are now given a little screenshot of the game (exactly how it looks when you select save) and the ability to add a title to the game by using the keyboard…once you have your title entered just tap Return on the keyboard to save that game and go back to the main play screen. You can then choose a saved game by tapping on the Load button on the lower menu bar…what is cool is that it doesn’t just show you the title of the saved game but the little screenshot of the game too. iZoo 1.2

Garf 0.5

Garf 0.5 has made things “bigger” and better! When you open the app you will notice that the play area is much larger now…

giving you ample space for each button! In the Settings there is also a new Game Mode option. When selected, you are given three options; Regular, Reverse Garf (RND 40) and Antigarf (RND 40). You can only play regular mode until you have reached round 40 then you can choose one of the other options, we are not given instructions on how exactly these new modes works so, I guess you are going to have to figure it out on your own (and I am nowhere near round 40 so I can’t be of much help!)! Chess 1.6

There are a few new features in the update to Chess 1.6. The most obviously is the addition of an undo button in the lower right corner of the app. Now, instead of having to go into the Actions menu and selecting Undo…you can just tap the Undo arrow at the bottom on the page!! Undo is still available in the Action menu though, I find that is does weird things. The Undo button at the bottom on the screen undoes the last two moves (the last move of each player) but, the Undo button in the Actions menu will only undo the last move, which doesn’t seem like a problem but, it is because when you only undo one move…it is then the computers turn to move again but it doesn’t realize it and makes you move which switches which player you are from white to black. ContraSense Update 1.6

Soneso put out a quick update to ContraSense after the release of the previous version 1.5. The update does not make any visual changes to the app but, it does fixes a few bugs dealing with the ability to pass a level (there were too many cars in a row for your car to fit through) and the level speeds changed.

ContraSense Update 1.5

With the update to version 1.5…ContraSense has a snazzy new look! The first thing you will notice is a new icon!!…and, it is a nice one! The main menu has also changed…the Donate option has been removed leaving the options Play and Highscores. When you start playing the app you will see the full extent of the new design! Everything is redesigned…the “track”, the cars, the extra points…everything. iGo Update 1.4 & 1.5

iGo There have been two update to this app since the last time I reviewed it and, they have added quite a few new features!! The first thing you will notice when you open the app is there are now buttons below the play board. These buttons allow you to go back one move, go forward one move(if you have gone back already), go back an entire turn, zoom out and zoom in. Also, when a new piece is added to the board it puts a little blue asterisk looking thing on top of the piece…I think this makes it easier to see where your opponent just moved. There have also been some additions to the Action menu. You can now view your score, load a previously saved gamed and save your current game (you can change the title of the game to whatever you would like it to be). Good updates! Below are the exact changes with each update and the screenshots.
