There are a couple of cool mods in Cydia that I thought I would mention. One is a dialer mod that is actually similar to very popular dialer mod for firmware 1.1.4 and below. Retro Phone Dialer (via modmyi) will change your dialer keypad to look like an old school pay phone dialer…it’s pretty cool! The other mod is a Cydia theme. enBuufydia (via modmyi) is a mod that will change Cydia to match the Buuf theme. I know quite a few of you use the Buuf theme so, here is just one more thing you can mod to match your theme! Both mods can be activated and deactivated via WinterBoard with no issues. There were a few mods today in Cydia but, I’m only going to point out a few of them. Two themes, one battery mod and one lock screen mod. The two themes Laying on the Grass (via iSpazio) and Black and Teal (via modmyi) are both very unique themes. The battery mod, Battery Colors (via modmyi), is a simple mod of the stock battery that will change the color of your battery based on percentage (red, yellow, green, blue). Finally the lock screen mod, Tinker Bell Lockscreen (via BigBoss), is a very nicely designed lock screen mod including the battery, slider and wallpaper. Below are the screenshots of each mod. WinterBoard Mods

There are quite a few mods in WinterBoard today and I want to mention a few…one of which I am excited to tell the ladies about!! I always try to post about any mods that are aimed toward us females, only because there are not a ton of them and so it is nice to know about the few there are. Well, I honestly have not found that I am overly impressed with but, I really like a new theme called KillSignCarbonPink the other mods are titled; Sun and Moon SMS, Icon Shadow and Icon Glow.
KillSignCarbonPink is a very complete theme. It contains icon, slider bar, keyboard, dialer, wallpaper, system, badges, SMS Bubbles, loading screens, battery and many more mods. It is pretty clean and nicely put together. There are a few things I’m not huge on but overall, a decent theme you will want to check out. The next mod is an SMS mod. It changes your SMS Bubble to an yellow and a pearl color. The yellow sms bubbles have have a star and the pearl have a moon. It also has a star wallpaper. It sounds like it could be cheesy but, it is actually a decent design. [Read more…]
WinterBoard Themes – KillSignRetroBlue and Ironman

There have been a couple themes in WinterBoard recently that I think are note worthy. The themes are KillSignRetroBlue and Ironman. Both of themes have quite a bit of modding in them. The KillSignRetroBlue theme includes icons (though the YouTube icon does not work…you will have to manually SSH in and capitalize the “Y” in YouTube icon…then it will work), custom battery, HUD, Closebox, badge and sliders.
The Ironman theme does a ton of modding as well…lock screen, wallpaper, battery, sms balloons, slider, weather screen, sounds, load screens, dialer….etc. Honestly, I’m not huge on theme Themes (and this one is a little on the boyish side :)) but, I got word that this was cool so I thought I would pass it along! Trama – winterBoard Theme

Trama is an interesting theme that came out in Cydia last night. There is not a ton of info about the theme but, it does seem to change your WiFi signal icon and battery icon on your Status Bar, the battery charging image on your lock screen when you iPhone or iPod Touch is plugged in and the sliders. Beaches – WinterBoard Theme

Beaches is a WinterBoard theme that switches between 24 wallpapers throughout the day (changing once an hour). I know, you are thinking…”This has already been done.” True, there is another theme very similar to this called Around The World in 24 (which I really like). However, this theme only includes beach wallpapers. Honestly, this is perfect for me. My preferred iPhone theme…when I’m not testing other themes…is clear icons with a beach wallpaper which I used to change about once a day or every few days. Well, now I do not have to change them on my own any more!
Note: Another thing I like about these type of themes is how easily they can be customized. If you are familiar with SSH, you can easily SSH into your iPhone or iPod Touch and replace the images in the theme with your own images. That way it will rotate through wallpapers that match your theme or wallpapers that you just like better. The images for this theme are located in the folder:

iPink – WinterBoard Theme

Ok ladies, it seems that someone has finally taken pity on us and the fact that there is a massive lack in themes for us girls! iPink is now available via Cydia. It is a full UI theme. It changes basically everything on your iPhone to pink…from icons, to the calculator, to badges, to chat bubbles, to weather themes, to the keyboard, to all UI interfaces. It’s crazy.
Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the theme. There are a few aspects of the theme I do like however, other pieces seems a little too thrown together for me. But, if you are looking for a complete UI theme that is pink…this just might be the one for you! Check out the screenshots below.

Brilliant – WinterBoard Theme

Ok, DJContagious has been writing about a few of his themes so, I thought I would write about the one that I am using right now. I have been using since it was released a few days ago. The name of the theme is Brilliant. It has a decent amount of icons. It also mods the slider bars, wallpaper, lock screen wallpaper and badges. It is a little on the boyish side for me! :) But, other than that, I think it is a decent theme!
Stereo’s Leopard Theme

This is currently my favorite theme in Cydia! It’s called Stereo’s Leopard, and it was a theme I immediately remembered from Customize 2.0 back on 1.1.4. The one thing I love about this theme are the large (literally), and big amount of icons it has. It skinned about 50% of my icons, and has app themes too. Like MobileMusicPlayer (pictured below) for instance: usually, you would see a frozen screenshot of it for about 2 seconds, then would be able to use it. Those 2 seconds are when the app loads. Just yesterday I was writing that I couldn’t find a WinterBoard them that I liked and then voilà…today there is one! There are actually two that I am going to point out. One because it is unique the other because I set it as my theme!! I had a chance to look at a few of the themes you guys have suggested in my post from yesterday. Hopefully, I get a chance to look through all of them and do a post about the ones that are really cool!
