New App Store Feature – Top Grossing (no upgrade required)
A new feature has been added to the App Store, Top Grossing. Top Grossing displays the top 25 (or 50) grossing apps in the App Store. Currently MADDEN NFL 10 is the number one grossing application… and it was just released yesterday!
You do not need to upgrade to the 3.
1 firmware or to iTunes 9 in order to see the new feature.
Just head over to the App Store application and select the Top 25 option on the lower menu bar. You will then notice a new Top Grossing option at the top of the page (next to Top Paid and Top Free). [Read more…]

Download Ringtones Wirelessly – Overview
Another new feature of the 3.1 firmware is the ability to download ringtones wirelessly from your iPhone or iPod touch. Currently there are over 30,000 ringtones available from all 4 of the major music labels. The ringtones are $1.29 (USD) each.
To view this new feature, you will need to go into the iTunes application and then the More option on the lower menu bar. Here you will see a Ringtones option in the menu.
Once selected, you have the ability to view Featured, Top Tens (by genres) or Genres of ringtones. [Read more…]
Genius Recommendations for Apps – Overview
Genius Recommendations for Applications is a new feature of the 3.1 firmware. This feature makes recommendations for new apps based on the apps you already own. It will give you a list of recommended apps and why they have recommended them.
Once you have updated your device, you can go into the App Store application and then the Featured option on the lower menu bar. Once in the Featured option, there will be a new tab at the top of the page titled Genius (it is located next to New and What’s Hot). [Read more…]
Updating to iTunes 9 Does Not Affect Jailbreak or Unlock
MuscleNerd from the Dev-Team says that it is safe to update iTunes to iTunes 9 even if your iPhone or iPod Touch is jailbroke and/or unlocked. So, if you have a jailbroke/unlocked device…
go ahead and updated iTunes.
However, do not update to firmware 3.1 via iTunes. We haven’t heard anything official on the 3.1 firmware update and how it affects jailbreaking and unlocking yet. We will keep an eye on the Dev-Team for more info. [Read more…]

Apple Store Back Up – Reflects New iPod Touch Sizes and Pricing
Like during all Apple events, the Apple store was down earlier today and throughout the event. It is now back up and reflects the new iPod touch sizes and pricing.

iPod touch – $199 8GB, $299 32GB & $399 64GB (No Camera)
The iPod touch did receive some attention today at Apple’s “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it.” event however, it might not have been what everyone was expecting.
Of course Apple gave all the statistics on how the iPod (including the touch) is blowing all other devices out the water and how they have sold over 20 million already. They also spent quite a bit of time demoing games on the device such as; sequel to Assassin’s Creed, Riddim Ribbon (a new game by Tapulous – developers of Tap Tap Revenge), Nova (new game by Gameloft) and Madden NFL 2010 (a new game by EA Games). They went on to say that there are 607 titles on PSP, 3680 on DS, and 21,178 on iPhone OS… not too bad (and much cheaper!). [Read more…]

iBlast Moki, by Godzilab, is a physics puzzle game for iPhone and iPod Touch developed. The goal of the game is to blast the little Mokis into the portal with the help of bombs. Throughout the game you are able to unlock new items like ropes, rising balloons and rotating wheels. There are six different worlds each containing unique gameplay mechanics like moving obstacles, rotating doors and floating in water. TamWalls is a wallpaper pack that contains 15 wallpapers. The pack does seem made up mostly of landscapes. The wallpapers were chosen by Tamara, hence the title of the pack. Remember, when you install this wallpaper pack, the wallpapers are added to your stock Settings application under Wallpapers. You can get TamWalls via the MacCiti source.
Note: If you would like to manually delete some of the wallpapers once you install the pack, you can ssh into the Library/Wallpapers folder on your iPhone or iPod Touch and delete them from there. [Read more…]
